A lovely little hotel in a good location for exploring the city on foot. Nice modern rooms although they are not overly big but was all we needed. staff are extremely helpful especially with the late check in process.
We stayed at the Prassede. It is actually quite small and tucked in an alley, so the word "Palace" is superfluous. The front desk went above and beyond! They were extremely attentive and kind, helped get us in our room quickly, and we were so grateful for their assistance in planning our tours. The room was clean, the bathrooms were very spacious and modern, beds were very comfortable and the bed linens were nice. The rooms came with a coffee maker which was nice and the television was a nice distraction during downtimes although limited. You could put in your own Netflix if you wanted to expand viewing options if you trust entering in your password information on publicly shared appliances. The wifi was adequate and we were able to handle limited work obligations during our trip. I am unable to give 5 stars because the location is not as convenient for the top attractions in Rome if you are unfamiliar with getting around, although it is in proximity to the train station which has a GREAT food hall and great shopping. We had an easy walk one block to a cab stand to get lifted closer to the attractions we wanted to visit. There are two coffee places downstairs which are convenient for grabbing a cup on your way to start your day, but the cafe/bistro attached to the hotel the dinner is mediocre. Across the plaza from the hotel is a local discount department store and we were able to pick up some last minute things we forgot to pack. In the train station is a full service and fully stocked pharmacy for more toiletry type things.…
The room was quite small but adorable. It was extremely clean. Everyday once we got back to our room we were surprised how clean it was. The whole hotel is beautiful and the location is good (close to city center and with connections to a couple of busses). The ladies at the reception were superb. Breakfast is amazing.
Me and my partner were due to arrive next Thursday (14th) and have received an email cancelling our booking today (6th), just under a week before, with no notice or courtesy call. The reason given was that the pre payment card was declined, despite having booked 3 (three) weeks ago, and the card works absolutely fine. Surely if the card had been declined, you would email the person to rectify this, as clearly it’s just an error and an alternate card could have been provided - which we told them we were happy to do. Now they say the hotel is fully booked for the dates we were due to arrive and they cannot accommodate us. So based on this, it seems to me like they’ve overbooked and now are using an excuse of a card being declined which is a complete lie. We have flights, trips and reservations for the weekend and whilst we have found a different hotel, it has cost us £200 extra through no fault of our own, at a time when there is a cost of living crisis in the UK, all because of poor organisation and poor customer service. Avoid at all costs!…
