My boyfriend and I stayed at Frank's house on our first night in Rome and thought it was lovely. There are only 2 rooms and we had the one without an ensuite but had sole use of the bathroom across the hall. I actually think we made the right choice as ours looked out onto an internal courtyard so was...

It's nice to go to a place and feel like home, and Frank's House was definitely one of these places. We'd been on the road for weeks and this was just what we needed, a nice, relaxed, comfortable place to stay. Our hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable about Rome, and it was really great to have that 'insider's' view...

Excellent size room and nice size ensuite. Frank was nice and friendly. Convenient location - right near the train station. Plenty of security.

Frank and Soledad were wonderful hosts, they were very helpful in advising us where to have breakfast , lunch etc... We stayed in the front room with the balcony letting us enjoy people watching below. We arrived by train from Florence and were leaving by the Rome International Airport, so the room was ideally positioned for transport needs.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at Frank's House. If we had 30 days to spend in Rome it would be at Frank's House. Frank and his wife were outstanding people. Their recommendations of restaurants and historic site were perfect. Their set up is a 10 out of 10.

What more can I say?!?! The place is beautifully furnished, bright, modern, VERY comfortable beds (yay for lots of pillows!) and CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. Spotless. Our sheets even smelled fantastic! Our private bathroom was down the hall and wasn't an issue at all. We felt comfortable from the second we arrived. Fresh flowers. Umm... FREE WI-FI. Awesome. But, truly, the...

We spent five nights at Frank's house towards the end of May. Before we arrived Frank gave us tips on how to get from the airport to the accommodation, and he greeted us warmly when we got there, with a map, and lots of recommendations. We were staying in the larger of the two rooms and were delighted with it....

This was our final stay in Italy before heading home. We chose Frank’s House because of its proximity to the train station and many of Rome’s attractions (we had an early flight home and took the train to the airport in the morning). Frank was very helpful and spoke perfect English. Although it was not an en suite, we did...

Found Frank's House through cross-pollinate.com and was not disappointed. Frank and Soledad were gracious hosts, especially since we arrived earlier than expected and my husband was feeling very ill after a long flight. They went far beyond the call of duty to help us when we needed it, despite their busy schedule. We will always appreciate that extra care. The...

We stayed 3 nights at Frank's House, in the Room #2 which has a Private Non-Ensuite Bathroom. Pluses: conveniently located near the station when you arrive from Fiumincino and really cosy: comfy bed, no noise and spacious. Definitely go for it if you're looking for a room only and value - which was my primary criterion. Frank is a friendly...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
