We went to Rome for a week and booked this as good reviews. It was awful from the start-dirty walls, bathroom falling apart, noisy (needed ear plugs to sleep at all). The breakfast was a stone cold coffee and stale pastry. We got a refund and left after 2 days as couldn't stand it any more. Do not book this... More

I stayed when I was in Rome. Very spacious and clean room. There is no reception but the owner communicated with me before arrival. It is in front of Roma Termini, if you are arriving by bus from the airport, just walk down for about 150m and cross the road. If by train from the airport, from platform 24, turn... More

In the middle of Teriminni station but only...a bit dangerous feeling due to the around area is dark n homeless people. Except this accomodation itself is great. Nice clean room & lovely breakfast~ we can have fruit bread coffee n milk. Daily cleanup is perfect. Its vauable stay in Rome. Recommendable!!

The location was very close to the main train station and metro and easy walking distance to the Coliseum. True the immediate two blocks could have looked better, but the building is actually fine. I found the room clean and the proprietor very nice and helpful. I'd have no problem staying there again.

Cons: you have to pay extra 30€ for check in after 20:00. We where not able to close the window. It was broken. Whereas that the hotel views is on the train station, we had much noise in room. We can not sleep. In the shower one moment flowed warm water, one moment cold water. It is hostel.

We stayed for two nights while we visited Rome. We picked this hotel because of its reviews and that it was in walking distance to Termini. It was a bit difficult to find at first, and the neighborhood seems a bit scary because of the walk from Termini's main exit to the B&B, however the B&B itself is safe and... More

When we first arrived at Roma Termini and walked to the B&B I thought I was at Port Authority on W.42nd street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan. Many undesirables and homeless sleeping on the street. I immediately said "this is not the place to stay." The area was crowded and scary. But being a New Yorker I weathered the storm.... More

We looked up the area with google map so we got the idea of what it would look like. We've tried to call to set up the check in time several time but had hard time understand the man on the phone so we just go. The location is good. We found that walk to the B&B from metro A,... More

We stayed at Piccolo Principe B&B in Rome for three days. The access to the B&B is a bit off putting since the B&B is on the fifth floor and reaching the lifts means dragging your luggage up at least 15 steps. The room is a basic room with no claim to any luxury. They do not provide for any... More

We only stayed for one night but this was one of the best places we stayed in Italy. Located right across from Termini station, the room was quiet and extremely spacious! Our hostess was extremely welcoming and the free wifi was an added bonus!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
There are four very nicely decorated rooms with private bathroom (all with shower stalls) at Piccolo Principe B & B. Each one has colorful walls and interesting furniture pieces that the owner, Luana, has restored or refashioned from things purchased in small markets around Rome. They all have new parquet floors, recently built bathrooms, TV with cable and satellite, and colorful, comfortable bed spreads. In the common area there are many books in a variety of languages, access to a DSL internet line (or wifi) if you're traveling with a laptop, and a place to serve oneself breakfast from the items provided in the kitchen. It's clear that the owner has taken great care in putting her place together. ... more   less
