We stayed with Marco for four nights and, true to all of the other excellent reviews, Suites Trastevere lived up to its reputation. Marco was great -- enthusiastic, helpful, amicable -- and the rooms were spotless (and I have very high cleanliness standards). Spic-and-span, comfortable, quiet, inventively decorated, and certainly no bedbugs or other unmentionables (that previous post seems speculative...

My wife and I stayed in the Trevi fountain room for 3 nights to begin our three week trip in Italy. Marco was a wonderful host. He was able to allow us to check in at 0700am, arrange a driver for us at the airport and met us at the property to answer all questions. The rooms were spotless, beds...

What a lucky woman I was to be able to find and stay at Suites Trastevere! Marco is all and more that the other positive review write about. I had book 7 nights to enjoy all that Rome offered and this neighborhood gem kept me safe, secure and happy my entire week. Marco would review my daily agenda and make...

This is a great B&B just outside of downtown Rome (a couple stops on the tram, it was nice to be in a quieter neighborhood). The guy that runs it, Marco, is friendly and super helpful, he had lots of great recommendations for restaurants and how to get around the city to see all the sights, wrote down all the...

We had a wonderful experience at Suites Trastevere. We spent the last 4 days of our vacation here and Marco was by far the most incredible, accomodating host of entire trip. He went out of his way to make sure we knew the best way to get around the city and recommended several excellent restaurants and places of interest. The...

My friend and I stayed here last week on our whirlwind trip through Italy. After much deliberation I selected this B&B for our visit to Rome. I was not disappointed. There is a local subway train that stops one block from the hotel. You can take it over the river and walk to everywhere you need to go. There is...

Words cannot describe the fabulous hospitality provided by Marco, the welcoming lovely and peaceful rooms. Arriving in the heat of Rome after a long train ride, we stumbled into Suites Trastevere. We felt like we entered an oasis of peace and tranquility. Our teenage kids were delighted with their room (the Villa Borghese) -- the free wireless internet, the comfortable...

Suites Trastevere was one of the highlights of our Italy trip! We arrived after a car trip from France without telling Marco specifically when we would be there, so contacted him then and waited a few minutes for him to return to the Suites location. Not a problem in the scheme of things, though. Marco spent a good amount of...

We were supposed to be staying with Marco in the Suites Trastevere in mid April for four nights, as you may remember this was around the time of the volcanic ash cloud, which meant that our flights were cancelled the night before we were due to fly to Rome. During the situation i was keeping Marco up to date with...

I spent a night here with a friend and had a good experience. The B&B itself is located in Trastevere, and is right on the bus line leading into the heart of the neighborhood. It's also only about a 5-10 minute walk to the FR1 train line which leads straight to Fiumicino airport. It is like being in your own...

Staying in Monteverde

Neighbourhood Profile
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
