First I didn't want to be too harsh with this hotel. But I'm gonna, cause they almost ruined my vacations in Rome. It's actually an old apartment transformed to a "B&B hotel", everything in the room feels as cheap as it looks. The guys who did the job were complete amateurs. The bathroom in our room was really, but really... More

I booked this hotel to stay over New Years Eve. I put the reservation on my credit card until we arrived. We arrived at the hotel and no one answered the door to let us up. We waited for two hours, called the front desk and no one answered. We tried to cancel our reservation and they did not comply... More

We booked a twin bed with private bathroom, they gave us a double room with shared bathroom. No hot water service at all. The continental breakfast is a simple cappuccino and a sweet in a chinese bar next to the B&B. No credit card accepted. However the rooms are very clean (thank goodness) and the B&B is very well located.... More

Firstly this hotel is NOT bed and breakfast you get a cup of coffee and a croissant from the cafe over the road. We had to wait 20 min for the owner to arrive after ringing him to say we were waiting. The rooms were clean but very old and dated. noisy from other rooms in the block using the... More

Please don't book this hotel, this has been the worst lodging in my entire life. I stayed on May 2010. Rome was our first stop, I had to figure out how to call py phone to the person in charge to give us the room key, because nobody lives there. It's only an apartment and they rent the rooms. Once... Gosh, it was disgusting. Bad parts: No portie or anyone to talk to, so we got stuck in front of the door for 20 minutes till the owner came to pick us up. No signs to the hotel, so we lost our way. No breakfast in the B&B, it's in the bar across the street. No changing towels/ linen/trash cans... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
