Came into town with no place to stay and came across this gem. Last minute booking and Francesco, owner and host, arrived as fast as he could to check me in on a busy Friday afternoon in Pompeii. Quite, clean, Brand new, secure, centrally located. Only a 15-20 minute walk to the Pompeii ruins. Close to the Old town center, with restaurants, stores, etc. 2 blocks from the train station. I agree with other review that he should remove the name of "ruins" from the company name. Francesco made expresso in the morning, let me leave my backpack there after checking out while I saw the ruins all day. Make sure you have your google translator, he doesn't speak much English and I don't speak much Italian. That is the fun and adventure of it. Met his brother and Father and chatted with the family using the google translator one night. I think my red hair was an unusual site for them. I loved the attention and the hospitality was incredible. Francesco really bent over backwards. I recommend for EVERYONE. Mille Gratzie Pompeii B&B :)…
Wow, so many reviews on here are for the archaeological site of Pompeii and NOT the bed and breakfast. This led to my confusion when I booked my stay here and led me to believe I was staying very close to the ruins. There is even one picture that shows the view from the room looking at the ancient ruins. I wish I had read more of the reviews and looked less at the photos before booking. With that said, here is my review of the B&B Pompeii Ruins! The owner of this bed-and-breakfast, Francisco, was very friendly, although a few times we had communication problems as he does not speak much English and we don’t speak Italian. He went out of his way to make sure our needs were met, and even volunteered to take us to the train station when we left. Included with your room is a simple breakfast with meats, cheeses, pastries, coffee, juices, crackers, and other continental breakfast items. The unit looks to be partially remodeled with new furniture, bedding, linens, and so on. From the looks of things, I am guessing it will also contain a kitchen soon? The bedroom area is a bit cramped with a twin bed along the foot of the queen bed making it hard to walk around the end of the bed. The one thing missing, was a comfortable place to sit. There are a couple of chairs, but both are uncomfortable for sitting any length of time. The location is good for seeing the new area of Pompeii and there are a number of restauramts nearby and an amazingly beautiful church. This location is not very convenient for visiting the ruins. It is a good 15 minute walk or so, and the fare via taxi is quite expensive considering the distance (about 20 euros). In the morning we went to the tourist information both and found we could take a shuttle to the Ruins for 3 euros each? Loved: * Friendliness of the owner (above and beyond) * Space to move around * VERY Clean * Breakfast * Great Price Not so Great: * Multiple places in Pompeii with similar name makes it confusing to find location. * Lack of comfortable place to sit (chairs not comfortable) * Twin bed along foot of queen bed making it a challenge to walk to restroom, especially at night * Communication challenging at times due to Language barrier…
What or where can you start: We were kind of lost from our arrival from the UK and laden with luggage, we took a taxi (expensive) had no choice because we were tired plus a child and loads of baggage we asked the driver to take us to the: POMPEI RUINS, didn’t say the magic letters B&B, si we were dropped at the ruins, we looked for the hotel or B&B nobody knew or heard of this place, do you ever get that sinking feeling? Fortunately we had a number and a kind receptionist from the Victoria Hotel helped us track the place and called, much to our relief. A timid voice answered and said give me 10 minutes and I will pick you up! With his own little Fiat Panda we were met by Francesco, after much juxtaposing to take the luggage in the small vehicle squeezed thinner than sardines we made our way. A very unassuming outside, a green steel door resembling Fort Knox entrance, it made us feel that we were about to get in to the Vault. And we did! Francesco was incredibly helpful and with his scholastic English gave us all informations we needed about our accommodation and asked to give him our chosen time for breakfast no matter how early or late. From the beginning to the end he was a total GEM, he could never do enough for you, his informations how to avoid extortion charges from tourists agents and taxi drivers, giving us useful information about buses on how to get to the VESUVIO were relevant to our budget. And on departure he offered and took us to the train station. THANK YOU MY DEAR FRIEND FRANCESCO YOU ARE A TRUE CUSTOMER FOCUSED INDIVIDUAL AND YOU WILL BEND BACKWARD TI HELP. You are a LEGEND…
£15 each for the night we expected the worst, but cute little b&b with pretty garden and hallways it was a perfect stop for our 1 day in Pompei. The room was basic but supplied towels and the room rate included basic Italian breakfast of pastry, yogurt and coffee.
We stayed 3 nights in B&B Pompei Ruins. It's within 2 minutes walk of the big cathedral, 5 minutes from the Pompeii ruins site and 2 minutes from the train station to Naples, so really well located. Loads of bars and restaurants within a minutes walk. The B&B was really clean and has everything you need, and there is a good selection of cold continental food for breakfast. Francesco, our host was very friendly and helpful. .
