We visited for 5 nights one double and one triple. The staff were excellent, very helpful with guidance and directions, especially Rosario (thank you so much!). The parking close by and costs 10€ per day, but is closed for some hours that we needed to return and had to wait till 7. Great breakfast, good service. The entrance is a problem…
4-star, it said, and Covid conditions didn't help but, as already mentioned, the front entrance location tells you a lot. Used to be a back door when the hotel truly was 4-star and grand, with what used to be the main entrance round the corner. But this is now and NO, that entrance - inches from the kerb of a VERY busy road - is NOT satisfactory at all. Reception and staff all fine and dandy. Room was . . . er, adequate but not what I call 4-star. Naples traffic noise and sirens quickly become tiresome. Buffet breakfast was borderline adequate but fabulous coffee. Television okay if you speak fluent Italian. Not the first person to feel bad about leaving a 2-star review.
On arrival we were greeted by a lovely guy who booked us in with no fuss and quickly as was quite late, unfortunately bar was closed and nowhere to eat Hotel is on a main road which is quite dangerous with no pavement at all outside door, you literally step onto the road, the hotel is clean (we were there 3 nights and bed changed and clean towels daily) staff are very nice and go beyond there duties to help, the only downfall is no evening restaurant limited bar, and nowhere near to eat or purchase anything
I loved the hotel! The location is great and you can easily access Centro Storico - walking distance (2.5km) or you can take a bus since the stop is just next to the hotel. Rooms are comfy and big and have these unique atmosphere of old time ( like the whole building). Staff is fantastic. Especially Maira who was very helpful and super nice. Breakfast was good too, but without vegetables. I understand though this is the Italian style to eat a lot of dolce in the morning (btw cakes and cookies were very tasty).
I feel bad at leaving a 2 star review but this hotel definitely doesn't live up to its promised 4 stars. I should start by thanking the staff who work hard and are most pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Other positives included a good breakfast, lovely big towels and a great location close to many attractions. However.... the hotel itself is badly dated. Maintenance has been shoddy and our room was very noisy from traffic and sirens through the night on the road outside (which I will get to in a minute...). I can live with all of the above but the very close proximity of the front door to the road is genuinely dangerous and is a good part of the 2 star rating. The front door steps immediately onto a very busy main road. This is made more dangerous by plant pots that mean you need to step onto the road to get into the pavement. Please, please remove these pots before someone ends up injured or killed on this busy road. Perhaps replace with hanging baskets.... …
In typical Italian style the Italians over exaggerate their star ratings! This is no more than a 2 star. The tiniest 12inch tv is so high up the wall your neck hurts to look at the postage stamp picture. The last time these rooms were repainted was in 1980. The breakfasts are sublime so this saves the hotel. The triple room is huge, shabby and not enough desk space, chairs or wardrobe space either. Aircon works well. Busses run for €1.50 single per person to Dante Square from there you can travel by Metro or regional train. If you arrive in Dante from the airport shuttle you can easily catch a bus up the long hill to outside the hotel or call the hotel & they will send a taxi at a fixed price of €14:60 up the hill to the hotel. You can’t walk from Dante as it is all up hill & 2km. They need to redecorate badly and buy 32 inch flat screen tv for the rooms urgently.…
Visited here for the start of an interrail trip round various cities in Italy, by far the best! Breakfast was absolutely fabulous, lots of options to choose from, even had soya milk along with 2 other types of milk! Lots of fruit on offer and even fresh honeycomb! Staff were very friendly and helpful, big clean room with high ceilings, big en suite bathroom and good aircon! Only problem was the hotel is a little dated and the main door literally steps out onto a main road.
We have just returned home to Ireland and would like to thank all of the staff for a wonderful stay in this Hotel. This having been our first time in Napoli and Hotel we did not know what to expect but we couldn’t have had a more enjoyable experience. The breakfast was fantastic with a great selection of cereals, cold meats, eggs, breads etc.etc.on offer. The rooms were well presented and housekeeping was superb. The location of the Hotel was perfect right next to the Catacombs San Genaro and public transport/City sightseeing stop right outside. We also found the local Neopolitan people friendly and helpful. Even with our lack of Italian the people went out of there way to understand us. I would like to mention in particular staff members Fulvio, Rosario and Giovanna who were friendly, helpful and professional in carrying out there duties We would definitely return to your Hotel in the future and will definitely recommend to friends and family.…
Located within walking distance of restaurants and shopping and the train station. The room was quit spacious, clean and had great A/C. No English TV channels. Great continental breakfasts. I would stay there again.
Hotel was a convent but converted to meet your needs. Rooms basic but very clean. Rooms large & staff very friendly. Only recommendation I would make to the hotel is that after a long day site seeing in Naples it would have been nice to have a couple of comfortable chairs in the room! Would recommend visiting the catacombs which are only next door
