Detailed Reviews
Well we picked this hotel due to its easy location to the train station and central Sorrento. In that regard we couldn’t fault it a short 5/10 min stroll down a busy shop lined street got you to the train and bus station. A further 5 mins took you to Piazza Tasso and then onto the bars/restaurants and narrow streets of Old Sorrento.
The hotel is exactly what you’d expect a modest basic affair. The room was sparsely furnished but with a very comfortable bed and just about enough hanging space. More drawers would have been nice. I also would like a kettle and tea/coffee option in the room as someone else mentioned. That to me was a real let down. The bathroom was dated with a shower with a mind of its own as to where it wanted to point. But once we worked out we couldn’t make it stay where we wanted and let it do it’s own thing we were fine !! Water was always hot and towels and shampoos etc were changed daily by the friendly cleaner who was happy to provide an extra pillow as soon as we asked for it.
The reception staff were pleasant when we had any dealing with them.
We used the pool on several afternoons but found that the pool bar and lifeguard that are advertised seemed to have stopped (maybe they think October is “out of season”) but it was 24 + degrees when we were there so the pool was welcoming even though it was absolutely freezing to get in.
The only negative to the whole experience was as has been mentioned by many others the restaurant manager. He is just not capable of dealing with more than 2 people at a time. His constant response to anything was I’m busy, 5 mins you wait , or it’s not possible. ! (For any Brits just think a combination of Basil and Manuel and that’s him)
The first morning we sat for 20 mins before he came to ask what we’d like to drink and order off the menu on the table. This seemed to disappear half way through our week as though he hoped no one would ask him for hot food. There was no management of guests arriving and if the room (which is only small for the size of the hotel ) is full people are told to wait in reception. But he keeps no track of this and just let’s later arrivals have seats. We saw this happen 3 times which caused some very unhappy guests. Our worst experience was getting there at 7am as we had an excursion planned to find most tables reserved for a group one other guest in the room and being completely ignored by him as he sat in the kitchen chatting! When we asked for coffee he brought the wrong thing and told us we have group coming ..as though this explained everything. And when the group was actually in the room you stood no chance of being served..”I have group you must wait” was all we heard.
Saying that don’t let him put you off the hotel is so well situated

A centrally located, friendly hotel which is the perfect place to relax during a trip to sorrento.
I had a single room, which like any single room was fairly small but the price reflected this, I had every thing I needed in the room and it was clean and kept clean through the entire stay, the maids were extremely friendly and I’m more than sure if I needed anything they would have been happy to help.
The pool area is a little haven away from the hustle and bustle of sorrento, i Absolutely loved it after a long day walking, the pool bar does some lovely food (special menu on Sundays) and great cocktails!
Ok… now for the breakfast “show” yes… it a bit like Fawlty towers but, u just need to chill.. your on holiday, there’s no rush! The guy in charge of breakfast is most defo an acquired taste, he’s not the friendliest but he is most defo not rude! I think (speaking as British person) we are just not used to that kind of approach to service! Lol. All that being said, my breakfast was always correct, and once I finally ordered arrived promptly. There’s a selection of items on the side and a menu from which u can order as much as you like (much to the annoyance of the waiter 😂)
Overall.. I loved this place.. a five minute walk from the train station. Perfect!!
If anyone is headed here, from Naples airport DO NOT TAKE THE TRAIN! it’s total torture, there’s a direct bus from the airport that drops you at the train station for 10€

Our second visit to Sorrento. This hotel had reasonable rooms, very good pool area, constantly available sunbeds (no racing in the morning to put towels down) and a good bar side service. The cleaning staff did a great job with fresh towels every day and bed changed once through the weeks stay. However, the bathroom was not as clean as we would have liked and the shower tray had been painted and the paint was peeling. Location is actually ok but be prepared to have to walk circa 500 yards to get close to the Centre. The reception staff were virtually non-English speaking and one, in particular, was very dismissive and not interested in helping at all. The breakfast was an absolute disaster!! Whilst we knew this was a continental breakfast, it was a VERY poor continental breakfast, with VERY little choice and cheap ingredients. There was a young boy and two ladies on breakfast service part of the time and they were, generally, as helpful as they could be but the main waiter (an older man) struggled greatly to be pleasant and with any request.
The premises are old fashioned and tired and our overall experience was very disappointing but the poolside and bar service around the pool are the upsides of this hotel. I would struggle to see how this hotel has achieved 3 stars.
We need to mention the two men who ran the pool bar who were extremely pleasant and helpful and also Antonio (I think) the young boy who helped at breakfast and at the pool. We have never seen such an enthusiastic and hard working young person. Maybe if he was in charge at breakfast it wouldn’t be such a pantomime!!

Pros:
Room and bathroom size
Location - if the walk to town via the main street is too busy walk the route behind the hotel, it's much quieter.
Cleanliness - the place was spotless
Breakfast
WiFi
Pool, sunbeds and gardens - very little shade on the majority of the pool all day.
Cons:
Slow lift
Noisy if you are a light sleeper but that is much down to it's location
No room fridge
Real star of the hotel is the pool bar attendant, Toni.
Very welcoming, informative, attentive and hard working he regularly asked if we wanted anything and if we did once our glasses/plates were finished he would clear them away promptly, really good English and we felt we could go to him for anything. He always looked immaculate too.
The whole pool experience was made so much better by having him there, on his Monday day off we actually missed his presence.
He is worth his weight in gold.

We went the last week in July. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the centre.and 5 min to the train station..breakfast was ok. Lots of pastries and cakes. A small selection of cheese and meats. Some hot food too . Eggs and waffles made to order..nice friendly staff.. the man serving the coffee isn't slow and grumpy like some say.. he is very attentive and helpful.the pool area is nice. Young boy doing the outdoor bar is great. Very friendly and chatty. Nothing is too much for him. Room cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels.. can be a bit noisy at night depending on where your room is due to being on a busy corner with mopeds going past. Kettle and mugs in room but nothing else.. so if you want tea or coffee best take your own...a mini fridge in the room would have been great due to the heat...all in all we will go back here next July as it's prefect location for trains and ferries...

This is a beautiful, clean hotel and the reception staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The room i stayed in with my husband was lovely and well set out with a generous sized bathroom. Unfortunately the hotel is situated on a corner of a very busy road and there is a lot of traffic noise. Opening the bedroom window was not an option as the fumes were intolerable.
The other issue was breakfast..you had to ask for tea, coffee, toast, fruit and other items and often we were left waiting ages for someone to serve us and then when they took the order we didn't always get what we had asked for.

Stayed here for a week as a base for exploring the Amalfi coast. Booked as a package holiday through Jet2, but drop off point is about 300m walk from the hotel due to location.
From the first day, staff very attentive and efficient especially the room cleaners. The house keepers were very friendly and would always come back to your room later in the day if you were still in your room. Towels replaced daily and beds made everyday.
Breakfast in the morning is okay but quite bizarre. Lotss of cakes and sweet pastries are served with a separate menu to order from. The cooked breakfast you can order was quite hit and miss, sometimes red hot and fresh, sometimes luke warm. The scrambled eggs and omelettes were tasty when cooked right, however, more often than not they were quite runny and undercooked. Fresh fruit and juice is avalable everyday.
The staff that serve/take the breakfast orders don't speak the best of English and some of them do struggle to understand what you mean.
Also, they do tend to serve and greet the locals first.
Rooms were clean but very basic. I would recommend requesting a balcony as our room only had a window which was okay as we didn't spend too much time in the room but feel like this would have been nice in the evenings when we were relaxing.
Location of the hotel is fab as it's a 5/10 minute walk to Tasso Square and the main Sorrento centre. The roads nearby are a little crazy but you can't hear as much in the room as some reviews make out. The windows did seem to be quite good at blocking out the hustle and bussle of the town centre at night.
The pool area does get busy during the mornings, but by lunch time it is very easy to find a sunbed. Theres a small snack bar by the pool which serves food and drinks. It is a very quiet pool area so great for relaxing.
Overall a pleasant stay but breakfast definitely let this place down.

Good base for Sorrento although a good 10 minute walk to centre. On a corner of a busy road so if your room is at the front it is a bit noisy. Rooms have air conditioning although the system in ours didn’t seem to adjust and switched it self off a lot. Rooms are adequate size but not really much storage.
Breakfast was sometimes a bit chaotic, only allowed to order two things from the menu which seemed to included hot drinks. The buffet was plentiful though so lots of choice. Service was a bit off on some days having to wait over 30 minutes to be served even after asking. Also didn’t always get what you ordered.
Staff in general were friendly and helpful. Not sure I would go back to this hotel, but then I don’t Normally revisit places.
Swimming pool was great, only really busy on one day and no fighting to put towels down.

Just returned from hotel Tourist which was recommended to myself and my sister by a work colleague. We had a wonderful stay. All the staff were lovely, attentive and helpful. Rooms are spotlessly clean and traditional style. Fresh towels every day. The pool area is gorgeous and there is a little shop where you can order food, buy drinks, crisps, ice cream etc. We were well looked after. Always plenty of sunbeds at any time of day as only 40 rooms. No need to put towels down. Breakfast is a bit hit and miss with the cooking. They do toast, all kinds of eggs, bacon, sausages ( not good), sometimes baked bean's. Mushrooms, omlettes. Cereal, lovely coffee, squash sometimes freshly squeezed. Huge variety of cakes etc. The location is pretty good right on the main street. About 10 mins walk to Tasso Square. Very close to train station to access Pompeii, Naples (don't bother), plus busses to Positano, Amalfi etc also from the train station. To the right of the hotel is a launderette and a 'Jolly' place where you can book trips to places like Capri by boat etc. Only downside is its on an extremely busy road junction. We had a more quiet room overlooking the pool. Would suggest you ask for that as it's very noisy. Overall we had a great time and were sad to leave. Great little place.

Hi all, we don't tend to leave negative reviews but we need to share our experience of this hotel. Firstly it sits Right at 3.6 rating maybe a little high in my opinion. The night we arrived the desk clerk was very informative with regards the hotel however that's where it ended we was given room 605 when we walked in to the room it was like stepping back in time very dated and a very tired room, not one for doing a Photo moments pointing out broken lampshade with pictures but wish I had. Do the holiday companies actually visit these hotels! And give it the green light? Our first night was horrendous we might as well slept on the pavement the traffic noise was intense in the room as the windows were not adequate to block out the traffic noise (605 should come with ear plugs, avoid avoid avoid)
When we asked for a room change this couldn't be done till the follow day so we had to endure a further night, the desk clerk did manage to change the room to a much better room facing the pool, so our holiday started on the third day.
We avoided staying in the pool and hotel as much as possible we spend most of our time away on excursions Capri, Pompeii, Rome which was amazing a beautiful country let down by poor accomodations.
The time we spent around the pool was an experience clothes and swimwear turned yellow from the water, and the Lifeguard, pool attend, waiter, come Bar man had no personality at all never smiled only replied with yes and no, made us feel very welcome not, There was also a you child maybe 16 called Luca very immature but had the same personality as the older bar man.
Only time uniform was worn was breakfasts time bizarre and odd? Outside of this staff wore what they wanted so you couldn't tell who was on holiday or who worked there.
Courtesy, manners and a smile cost nothing, get this right and your hotel will improve over night. However it's obvious from all the negative reviews this has fell on deaf ears....
We have Stayed in some beautiful accommodations that are 3 Star across the world, how this was rated is anyone's guess.
If you want a relaxing brake in a beautiful part of Sorento Italy please avoid this hotel.
We will be speaking to holiday provider to establish why the reviews don't match the accommodation type absolutely disgrace
