Travellers' Choice
Palazzo Marziale is an historical building located just in the heart of Sorrento.Just a step from the public gardens, the lift to the port and beach and the San Francesco's Cloister. Is actually runned by owners who care for it like a "family juwel" and will make you feel like at home. This year the five very spacious rooms have been completely renovated and two restaurant will be available for our guests: the terrace restaurant, open from April to the end of October and a lounge bar/restaurant open all year round.

From the moment we arrived you could tell this boutique hotel is special . Being welcomed by the super efficient Rita who Looked after us like long time friends . The lobby is stunning . The attention to detail is second to none . Our room “Hilarity” had french doors opening out to a view of the church and the sea . Bathrooms are super luxurious. My daughter noted it was the only hotel with a real hairdryer . We availed of breakfast and afternoon drinks offered to guests . Beautifully presented and plentiful . Thank you to Raphael who waited on us each day . He was cheerful and chatty even behind a mask . Thank you also to the other reception staff whose names I don’t have but who booked dinner reservations each night for us without fuss even during the holiday on the 15th Aug . Overall it’s a beautiful hotel in a beautiful place . We definitely will be back .

Having never visited Sorrento before I booked the Palazzo Marziale based on photographs on line and on other visitors comments. When we arrived here we couldn’t quite believe how beautiful the hotel is and how well placed it is for exploring Sorrento. They have valet parking and on arrival, if travelling by car you can unload your car right outside the hotel and then the vehicle is taken to a secure car park, until you request it to be delivered back. The entrance foyer is beautiful and looks like a picture straight out of a magazine. We were greeted so enthusiastically by the lovely lady on reception. It has a really lovely vibe about the place, the moment you walk in. We checked in effortlessly. The staff at the hotel are all helpful, friendly and wonderful ambassadors for the hotel in which they work. The tasteful decor continues throughout the hotel. All the rooms are easily accessed. The rooms are all individually named, which is another nice touch. I stayed in ‘Joy’, my parents in ‘Youth’ and my sister and brother in law in the ‘Roman Ruins suite’. I can comment on all these rooms having had the benefit of seeing them all. Joy is positioned at the front of the hotel and has a small Juliette balcony. It is a lovely sized room and really nicely decorated. Youth is positioned towards the rear of the hotel. It does not have any windows to look out of but don’t let that put you off. The room is a beautiful size and light and airy. It has velux windows which flood the room with light and is beautifully decorated. The Roman Ruins suite is positioned on the lower ground floor and next to some of the actual Roman ruins that were discovered and preserved when the building was renovated. This suite doesn’t have any windows with a view but again don’t be put off. It’s a huge room with a bath as well as fantastic showering facilities. It is still very light and airy. All the rooms were really beautifully presented with enormous and very comfortable beds and air conditioning. They all had tea and coffee making facilities and a wonderful array of toiletries and amenities inside their stunning bathrooms. The hotel also has a really nice lounge to sit in but my favourite area was the roof terrace where our evening ‘sundowner’ drinks were served and breakfast the following morning. The terrace has a beautiful, elevated view of the street beyond and has orange and lemon trees growing on it. It really is a superb place to sit. Despite having its own restaurant, the hotel is within walking distance (a couple of minutes) of a variety of cafés, bars and restaurants and also to the lift which connects visitors to the Sorrento coastline and swimming areas. Breakfast the following morning was exceptional and presented so elegantly. All in all it was just the most amazing stay. I cannot recommend staying at this hotel enough. In my opinion the staff, the service, the cleanliness, the facilities, the value for money and the location are all top notch.

What a wonderful experience having to know the people at the front desk and the restaurant. It is an elegant, fine, and well-maintained building with the sense of really staying in a Palace. Location and parking service are a plus. You don't feel like numbers even the rooms have names. Super, Excellent, fully recommended.

I have only great things to say about our stay here. The staff was beyond wonderful, helpful, and hospitable. Shoutout to the princess of Marziale herself, Rita! For not only hooking it up with the best boat ride to Capri, dinner reservations every night, EXTRA WATERS even sending us off with a giant water bottle, but she even gave us the best recommendations for the rest of our time in the Amalfi Coast when we left Sorrento! And also, Raffaelo, our breakfast server who we basically became friends with. Our room was cute, comfortable, and clean. Can't beat LOCATION.Best place to stay in Sorrento!!! Torneremo!!
