Last week we spent a few days in Grand Hotel Vesuvio in Sorrento. The hotel is rated 4 stars, we enjoyed our stay there, but there are a few things we did not like. First of all, breakfast was average, but dinner was quite bad - not tasty and not interesting. The blankets were old-fashioned that we do not find...

This is the poorest 4* hotel that I have stayed at in Italy, felt at best 3* service and accommodation. However the view from the terrace was great. The staff were consistently unhelpful, particularly on the front desk. The room was uncomfortable and in a poor state of repair. This was eclipsed only by the persistently dreadful quality of the...

Stayed a week as part of a group. Overall, a very good place to stay, but watch out for the issues before deciding. Located about 5mins drive from the old center of Sorrento, the hotel offers an amazing view all over the bay of Naples. It is truly spectacular and a delight to see every morning. The design is outdated...

I stayed here last week and the hotel has stunning views over the Bay of Naples. It's quite a large hotel and although maybe the bathrooms need updating, it is spotlessly clean. I feel the hotel was let down by both the quality of the food and the lukewarm temperature of every meal.

We stayed here as part of our Country Roads of Italy tour. All hotels were first rate (kudos to Insight Travel) including the Grand Hotel Vesuvio. Rooms are tastefully done and clean. A large pool and deck area are property highlights. The veranda, overlooking the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius, provides unforgettable views and is a wonderful place to...

This was the 4th hotel on our 16 day Gate One Tour of Italy. This is a nice hotel with beautiful views of the Bay of Naples and Pompeii. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms are larger than most in Europe. We had a dinner one evening that was just OK. We spent 3 nights here and had...

This is not the first time i have reviewed this hotel but i feel its worth revisiting my previous review. My family had two weeks at this lovely hotel from 16th September and the standard was as high as ever . From the friendly reception/bar/pool staff nothing was too much trouble for them. It was nice to have all our...

Our €25/d upgrade to a sea view was a very good investment for our 14 day stay in room 339. Think we had one of the best balcony's as large, private and covered so we could use in the rain with magnificent view with morning sun till about 10:00am. The room and bathroom were of adequate size. Comfy Super King...

This hotel commands a beautiful position, overlooking the Bay of Sorrento. I'll start with the positives! The room was large, clean and had more or less everything you require from a hotel room - balcony, hot shower, toiletries, a safe (which was free) and fridge. A tad old fashioned but I prefer to call this Italian rustic! The pool area...
