Had the most delightful stay, perfect timing as the lemon blossom was in bloom and the weather was warming up nicely. Warm enough for breakfast on the terrace. Maria and the team were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was amazing with so many home made cakes and produce to choose from.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! If you are reading this, book it now! This is a gem. Sorrento is full of big fancy hotels, but this place is different. It’s a true Italian Villa, has all the amenities of the big places, but with charm and love. The property is perched above the city and is full of lemon groves. There’s a rooftop jacuzzi with an absolutely incredible view. 10 out of 10! It’s a short 20min, steep and really fun walk to town through a tight meandering walk way (Via Rota). We thought we’d be taking taxis back and forth from town but we had fun on the walk, saying hello to the local cats and checking out the architecture. We never took a taxi and did two round trips to town everyday. The walkway is completely dark at night, but my phone flashlight was perfect. We felt like locals and we never saw any sketchy people. I felt much more safe than walking through Denver at night. Sorrento can be busy and crowded, so it was really nice to be just off the beaten path. We loved our room. Really clean design with a Chandelier. Dual shower!! It was really fun to take showers together everyday. Donna Maria and everyone there are amazing. You can really feel their pride and love for this place. BREAKFAST WAS INCREDIBLE! The best homemade breakfast pastries I’ve ever had. 10 out of 10! I’ve never had breakfast bring a tear to my eye before. I’m completely serious! And you’re sitting on a balcony overlooking the city and sea! My wife left her phone in the room and they coordinated with Hotel Montemare in Positano to get it back to us. Absolute gem.…
I have been patiently waiting for 2 years to receive the refund that I was promised multiple times by email for the room that was cancelled by COVID. We were taking my elderly parents on a dream vacation and for 2 years I "worked" with the owners to avoid having to refund me the 1600 Euros that I had paid. They requested I patiently wait until they could have time to recover and in the beginning I was glad to do that. Then they made multiple promises to pay that went ignored and now they will not respond to my emails at all. I was hoping that Maria was an honest person and one that would stay true to her promise, especially since it involved my parents money who are in their 90s. Disappointed in being lied to.
My friend and I have just returned from a 4 day break at this fabulous Villa. We truly loved it! Maria has put such care and attention into the Villa, furnishings, facilities, cleanliness - and most of all the 5 star service she and her staff provide. We chose this Villa for the intimate setting and wanted a more authentic experience for our visit to Sorrento; we definitely got that. You feel so taken care of, from the moment you arrive (with fresh lemonade and homemade cake - Maria and her sister are AMAZING bakers) to the moment you leave. Nothing was ever too much trouble - we thought we had booked a twin room but when we got there it was a double, within 10 minutes of mentioning there was another bed with fresh linens set up in the room. Our room was spotless and huge! All the food and drink provided is either from the Villa's grounds or nearby farms. They have also just sent us the recipe's for some of the food we had during our stay, which I will try but I know won't be as good! The Villa is just out of the centre (20/25 minute walk) the shortcut includes steps and a hill, which was fine for us (it's pretty much then one main road into the centre). They do however offer a free shuttle to some of the restaurants, one of which is at the port and was wonderful (Ristorante Vela Bianca).…
Maria and her team were incredibly thoughtful and welcoming. We arrived quite late from our flight to be greeted with home-made cakes and lemonade and a bottle of sparkling wine. The breakfasts were delicious and we could have happily spent the whole morning sat on the terrace taking in the fantastic view and making our way through Maria’s baking! Our room was absolutely lovely, and the scent of orange blossom was divine. It really felt like coming back to a little oasis at the end of the day!
Where do I start?! What an amazing 5 nights in the beautiful Sorrento! Villa Oriana is the most perfect place to stay, the views are incredible, the entrance to villa is so beautiful with its orange and lemon trees, the staff are fantastic, they cannot do enough for you! The villa itself is beautiful, clean and so peaceful, it’s location is fab, just a short walk to the bars, restaurants, shops & marina! Maria the owner makes THE MOST gorgeous cakes and breakfast spread every morning!! On arrival we were greeted by a lovely young lady, taken to enjoy the view on the balcony, brought some fresh lemonade & homemade lemon cake before being shown around and to our room! One night we had a pizza delivery from Il Ruttino (a must try) and enjoyed some drinks along with it on the balcony! And our last night we had the free shuttle from Villa Oriana to the gorgeous Vela Bianca for our last meal - superb!! We were celebrating my husbands birthday and on the morning of his birthday we enjoyed our breakfast out on the balcony and 3 of the lovely staff members came out singing happy birthday and presented him with a little heart shaped lemon cake with a candle!! Highly recommend Villa Oriana, thank you for everything, we can’t wait to visit again!!!…
Villa Oriana is a peaceful oasis in a lemon grove high above Sorrento where you can relax and enjoy the best breakfast you will ever have. The staff is super helpful and friendly and the owner Maria bakes wonderful cakes every day. There is a beautiful view over the bay from the terrace.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay here. Every single person who worked here was polite, professional and made our stay extremely welcoming and comfortable. Our room was clean, orderly and had a booklet with instructions for almost anything we wanted to do. We cannot say enough good things about this place! All of the views were great, the meals were wonderful and all of the grounds are well kept and enjoyable to stroll through in the morning or evening.
My sister and I took a first-time trip through Italy on April 11 - the 14th and were lucky enough to book three nights here on our travel south. We didn’t stay long enough. Staying at the villa was almost worth the trip to Sorrento, itself. Maria and her staff were attentive to every thing we needed and treated us like family, not customers. Maria prepared a delicious, memorable breakfast every morning. The grounds were lovely-with the family-run orchard of orange and lemon trees. The views from the rooftop and the terrace were breathtaking and we really didn’t have to go anywhere-though we were able to take the train to Pompeii easily. Our tour to Capri was easy to access from the villa as well. We would love to revisit the area to stay here again. Thank you for a lovely time, Maria!…
Maria and her staff were just wonderful, the attention to detail was spectacular and they couldn't do enough. The breakfast was one of the highlights, with freshly made cakes served every morning with the freshest of orange juices. The villa is perched on the hill, surrounded by their lemon tree orchard which is just beautiful. It is situated just outside Sorrento so you receive the most beautiful views as well as close proximity to the city, about a 20/25 minute walk - it is uphill but there is a little shortcut down to the town. The rooftop terrace is magnificent with the hot tub being another highlight. A free shuttle service runs to two restaurants and we would recommend Vela Bianca by the port for its lovely ambience, service and food. The hotel is very private so is perfect for those wanting some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. The value for money is fantastic and could not recommend this Villa enough! We could have just stayed in the hotel for our whole stay.…
