Floridiana Hotel is a fantastic place just steps from the Amalfi Duomo. The rooms are big, updated, and clean. Breakfast is included and is awesome, Due to COVID, it is not buffet style but they provide a daily menu with great options. Outside one of the entrances is a small grocery store with lots of local items with reasonable prices. Agnese from the front desk is very helpful. I emailed a few questions before I arrived and she was very helpful with quick helpful advice.
We drove to this property. Upon reaching the town we had the police stop us and we advised where we were staying. He radioed someone and we then proceeded to the Garage which is a fair way up the street - when you think you have gone too far keep going! They were expecting us. The luggage service was also called, so they collected our bags which we had within 10 mins of checking in. The process was outstanding! We were greeted warmly and checked in. Our room although looking a little dated in its styling was immaculate. The owners obviously take great pride in their hotel and it shows. Their dining room is great which serves a nice breakfast. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked well but the aircon didn’t cool so well in room 5. The location is right in town but is not noisy. There is a lift which saves you from walking up more stairs. Lots of restaurants nearby. If you are driving make sure you get clear instructions on the opening/closing times of the street and pay attention to the traffic light part way up on the right hand side. I would certainly recommend this lovely hotel for anyone wishing to stay in Amalfi.…
Its best to use public transport and ferries to get here. The staff helped with ferry times before we even arrived. The whole hotel was renovated a few years ago and it is great. Rooms are clean and airy, access is easy and there is a spacious rooftop terrace for that predinner glass of something and cheese. The staff were all very helpful and smiling no matter what was going on. Breakfast is very good covering all kinds of dishes and fresh coffee is prepared for you. The dining room is refurbished 18th Century with a fabulous ceiling fresco that makes you think you are in another time! One thing that we could not understand and is extremely tacky is that teabags in your room cost 50 cents! However, this is THE place to stay in Amalfi.
We chose Amalfi the town as our base for 4 and half days stay on the Amalfi Coast (when we later visited Positano for the day we realised that the physical layout of Positano (vertical) and the lack of amenities on one level - other than numerous tourist tat shops would not have suited us). But we got really really lucky when we chose Hotel Floridiana. It was centrally located & gorgeous - great rooms, sparkling clean & with fabulous, stylish modern bathrooms; fabulous restored fesco-ed ceilings & period styled dining area; excellent breakfast - high quality food & beautifully laid out; very hospitable, friendly & attentive staff led by Agnese - they were full of helpful tips for getting around the coast, & just very very nice people. It was the 80th birthday of one of our group & they were amazing & left a gift in her room which blew her away. When we moved onto Sorrento for our last 2 nights in the area, we missed both them & their lovely hotel! It was far above the 3 star rating it has, & we would definitely recommend them.…
Great hotel to use as a base to see Amalfi. Exceptionally beautiful hotel inside, the dining room ceiling and other room decoration was wonderful. Fantastic staff and very clean and comfortable rooms. Once you find the hotel and are safely checked in this is one of the best places you could choose. But car parking (and access to the hotel) is a real mission and make sure you use their baggage service as there are plenty of stairs to negotiate to get to reception. If you are arriving by car make sure to note the road (really little more than a VERY narrow lane) access closure alerts, and most importantly get the hotel to tell you where their garage is, drive to that (negotiating very narrow essentially pedestrian mall streets on the way) and get the hotel baggage service to pick you up from their garage. The stay is well worth the grief of the parking challenge, but pick the times and dates you arrive (we arrived on a market day immediately prior to a major annual procession and ALL the roads were closed at different periods!!!…
