We spent just 2 days in Matera but enjoyed them thoroughly. The B&B is clean and modern inside, keeping its traditional outside. It is in Matera's old town, the Sassi, and Simona (the landlady) couldn't be more helpful in making you understand them and the life you led in them. She recommended a guide who took us around (superb again!),... More

Casa Nei Sassi is a charming B & B in the heart of the historical Sassi area. Our room for 3 days was generous in size with a fridge and a view. Breakfasts served in the room were equally generous. Restaurants are just steps away. Host, Simona, is a helpful tour guide and even picked us up with extra hiking... More

Everything was just amazing. Owner was very friendly, even took us to the train station when we left. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and in the heart of the city - we crossed it about 4 times while strolling in the Sassi area. Close is very good restaurant, which I also recommend.

We spent a 5-day holiday in this B & B. First of all, there were no actual reasons to complain about anything in this wonderful B & B, this was absolutely one of the best accomodations we have experienced in our multiple holidays. The hostess (Simone) and her parents (they served the breakfasts with Simone) were extremely kind and helpful.... More

We stayed 2 nights in the wonderful town of Matera and in the wonderful B & B of Simona. We enjoyed our stay very much. Simona is super friendly and she gave us a warm welcome, with a map of Matera and a lot of info about the place and an English guidebook of the city, that we could use... More

Simona takes her job seriously and is passionate about Sassi Matera as well as her standards of accommodation. She was extremely helpful, taking our luggage early, helping us with transportation, guiding us to must see attractions, and setting up future accommodations in the next city on our agenda for us. We were treated like family and our safety was made... More

The B & B is located insde the Sassi area with free parking, within 50m of the front door The ower is extremely friendly and helpful with the local tourist attractions and places worth visiting. There is a small, but well equipped kitchenette so you are not dependent on restaurants for meals. The supermarket is just up the hill, but... More

From start to finish our stay in Matera at La Casa nei Sassi was memorable. When we arrived earlier than expected and probably inconveniently requested to leave our luggage, Simona not only made sure the room was ready, but she dispatched her father, Rafaele to collect us from the station. Nothing we had seen in photos could compare with that... More

We were so pleasantly surprised by this excellent accommodation. The location (Basilicata, right in the midst of the sassi) was absolutely incredible, the view form the room looked like a postcard! The room was very clean and rather large with a good size bathroom, a fully stocked kitchenette and wifi. Breakfast was hand delivered to our room at whatever time... More

That B&B deserves a high 5. From the location to the accomodation, from the staff which is a chance to meet locals to the breakfast, this was a very nice experience I'm willing to live a again asap. I'm a travel agency in Paris specialized in Italy and this is exactly what we are all looking for while travelling. Simona... More
