We were met off the train even though we were 3 hours later than we were supposed to be (thanks easyjet and french air traffic controllers) which really was no longer expected so a ginormous thank you for doing that it was above and beyond what you expect from a bed and breakfast host. Nice cave room lovely comfy bed...

We biked into Matera and had some difficulty finding the B&B. But the tourist people set us straight. Once we got there Vincenzio and Carla helped us get our bearings and gave us great advice on what to see and where to eat. Our room was a cave room but was very comfortable. It was warm and dry. When we...

My wife and I travel quite a bit. But this is the first time I've ever written an online review because this place is so fantastic. If you're going to Matera, La Dolce Vita B&B is a place you have to consider. The hosts are great. Super hospitable and helpful. They are totally committed to Matera and making your stay...

I travelled to Matera with my sister's family; they had one of the apartments and I had a double room just around the corner. Vincenzo met us late at night even though we'd gone to the wrong meeting spot and was incredibly helpful in getting us settled in our respective rooms. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious; the rooms offer...

We mistakenly thought that we had made a reservation at their fine inn only to realize that we were booked in a different Sassi. Nevertheless they spent much of the afternoon with us, helping to connect with the other inn, then driving us back to our car, showing us where to park and driving us and our bags to the...

One goes to Matera to see the Sassi, so why not fully experience a Sassi by staying over night in one? The young innkeepers live on site with their children and are great ambassadors for their historic city. Because the rooms are caves they are a little dark, but have updated plumbing and electricity and decent WiFi. Breakfast is served...

We came to Matera for an impromptu weekend and found this place the day before. As the B&B was full on our second night, the owner kindly offered to check with neighbours and found a great place for us. But first we had the sheer joy of spending the night in a real cave! The room was indeed special, with...

We stayed here for one day and really enjoyed one of the Sassi rooms renovated by Vincenzo the owner. The B&B is right in the hart of Matera and an excellent place to explore all of Matera. Both Vincenzo and his wife are really friendly and know a lot about Matera. Nice breakfast too!

Hi, we are Vincenzo and Carla, a french-italian couple who fell in love in Matera' Sassi. After a long and painstaking restoration process we are really happy to welcome you in our historical dwelling right in the center of one of the most fascinating quarters of Sassi, Rione Malve.
