We were excited to be staying in this b&b and had booked and confirmed accommodation 6 months prior. We were told 5 days prior to our arrival (whilst we were already travelling os) that our room would no longer be provided due to construction problems. We understand residence sometimes have problems however we were extremely surprised that you did not...

My wife and I stayed here last year....this could actually be the longest delay in writing a review ever! The b and b was perfect. I can't imagine a better location in Matera...5 min walk to town, 30 seconds to the UNESCO sassi walking tour. We arrived early enough to choose our room (only 2 to choose from) so went...

We had a wonderful, magical two night stay at B&B Sassolino, our hosts Tatiana, Lino and Grazia are the nicest people you could meet. We had the upper room which is a good size well furnished, comfortable bed lots of pillows and blankets. There is a large lounge kitchen, setee, two tables and chairs, tea and coffee making facilities a...

We recently stayed at the sweet B&B Sassolino for 3 nights. Our hosts, Tatiana, Lino and Grazia were sweet, genuine, fun and eager to please their guests. The establishment has two bedrooms and a large communal eating area (kitchen, frig). The room above the eating area is large and spacious; the room below is small and intimate. We actually chose...

Pros: Modern room in excellent location Good bed and nice (but small) bathroom Very friendly staff with good English Cons: No parking on site (10-15min walk from on-street parking area) Breakfast could be better Tip: Excellent restaurant at the end of the road (Via Bruno Buozzi) - would recommend the cod in tomato sauce. Ask staff for name of this...

Matera is not to be missed! Sassolino B&B was perfect for our 2 night stay in Matera. Perfectly located within the Sasso Caveoso. We were able to drive right to the front of the B&B which was so convenient with our luggage. Parking is not a problem, at the end of the street there is a small parking area near...

My wife, friend and I stayed in this two bedroom B&B and loved it. The owner, Lino, gave us a full intro when we arrived and couldn't have been friendlier. When we woke, the tables were set and breakfast was waiting. The B&B is in a very convenient location in Matera and we parked right across the street (parking in...

Sassolino the B&B we stayed in at Matera was absolutly wonderful. My husband & I experienced great hospitality from Lino & members of the family. Nothing was too much trouble. We were right in the centre of the Sassi & the spectacular view from the small courtyard & the window was amazing. Parking was easy as usually when driving it...

This place needs to blow its little horn more. It's in a great location, the rooms are each unique (and there are only two so it's super quiet), the restaurants nearby are terrific and there's a store selling artisinal wares right in the basement. The owners are gracious and enthusiastic about helping but are not busibodies. The morning of our...

Located in the heart of Sasso Caveoso is a great base for walking around Matera. Free parking space is available along the street. Room was comfortable, breakfast was ok. On the downside: We had the upper room and it had actually no windows (except for the 'internal' window facing the breakfast room), which made the ventilation problematic - it was...

“Both rooms are good.”
Wightrobin, 2 May 2015 | Read review
“Sassolino B&B has only 2 rooms. The first floor room has a window to the outside and a small adjoining bathroom(If you are at all claustrophobic go for the second floor, the shower is tiny on the first floor). Second floor has a larger room with no outside window and the bathroom is down the flight of stairs, but completely private. Either room would be fine. the second floor room has the larger bathroom.”

“Take a look at the photos on line. The upper room has a wall of milk glass to let in light, but no view. The lower room has a small window with view. Access to the shared outer room means a terrific view of the sassi and town. We met wonderful, interesting travelers staying in the other room.”
