Our party of 5 stayed in 2 adjacent rooms. Both were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Saverio, Anna and Claudia were amazing. Attention to details and to the customers is definitely their priority. Breakfast is curated and Saverio made us fresh cappuccino and scrambled eggs. The private parking outside the limited traffic area is great and indeed close to the hotel. From Le Origini you can easily walk around both Sassi, and Saverio provided us with useful information. We would definitely stay again.
We had a fabulous experience at L’Origini, from the moment we arrived to the second we left. Saverio, Anna, and Claudia were terrific. Saverio took us to their private parking lot, only a minute away, They had great suggestions about where to eat and what to do, and were helpful in so many ways! Saverio told us stories about his grandparents who lived in that cave in Matera. We opened the door of our room (which was amazing) and the view was breathtaking. Lovely breakfast!
Le Origini is positioned on a hill looking across to the oldest part of Matera. The terrace outside of our family room had the most stunning sunset view that you can imagine. The room was elegantly furnished, clean and well appointed. The service was friendly and every request was met with a smile. The provision of water in re-usable glass bottles rather than single-use plastic particularly impressed us. Parking near the hotel was also extremely convenient - something that we noted would not have been possible if staying in the heart of the old town.
We were lucky enough to enjoy the Panoramic room in this spectacular boutique hotel on the edge of Matera. The view has got to be one of the best around! It is only a short walk into town as well. The staff are super friendly and the breakfast is filled with delicious treats that are home made by the family grandmother (including some tasty jams). A truly pleasant stay in an amazing city.
I’m a travel agent and I’m working with Le Origini Suites & Rooms since more than two years, I love booking this lovely property for our clients. Anna and Saverio are friendly, professional and with a great sense of hospitality, always ready to give to their guests best suggestions where to eat or what to do in Matera. Location is perfect, in the Sassi area with a spectacular view on the Sassi, you can’t ask more. Rooms are beautiful and each room is different from the other. We love the Suite with Jacuzzi. Breakfast is km zero and delicious. Thanks Anna and Saverio for your hard work, you are great!
Fantastic place, great location and the host couldn’t have been more helpful. They offered secure parking for 10 euros a night which was great as the area is a no go for parking. We had a room at the back (which we knew about) but if you were staying longer than one night I recommend getting a room facing the town. Breakfast was great
Great hotel with big rooms overlooking the canyon. We left or car outside the restricted zone and carried an overnight bag. The proprietors were great at explaining how to see the city ( we walked 6 miles) and toured by ourselves for 6 hours. Hotel is new, modern and tastefully done. The bed is very comfortable and breakfast was quite good. Only complaint is the WiFi was no good and it is disappointing in a brand new place to not get WiFi. They acted surprised it wasn’t working and reset it but it only lasted 10 minutes and it was gone again. The sign for the hotel is hard to see so keep your eyes peeled.
We just had a wonderful stay at this exceptional smaller hotel located within easy walking distance of the key Matera experiences. The owners are delightful and charming, and the quality of the accommodations was high. Free parking available in nearby lot. Highly recommended!!
Small, immaculate, beautifully renovated, lovingly managed by the owner, perfectly located for conveniently visiting everything in Matera! Our lodging proved a significant part of our understanding and appreciation for the history and culture of this fascinating and engaging city. Excellent value. Superb hospitality.
We had a room looking out over the old town - with an incredible view. The room was recently renovated. The staff were helpful and provided parking for us. They arranged a walking tour for us. The breakfast was delicious.
