There are a very few steps, not steep, to the rooms. The shower was walk-in, but ask for non-slip matting. The bed is a comfortable height to enter and exit. Hardwood floors were easy to walk on, or for a wheel chair. The owners are super helpful and would surely assist with any concerns. Room had lots of space and nothing to trip over. Your mother would love the restful view over the river, with swans, from the french doors,no need to attempt the back steps. It will be lovely for your family!
