The room was equipped everything we needed. Complimentary toiletries in the bathroom included everything if you travel light. There was safe in the room at no extra cost. Bed was huge and comfortable completed with comfy pillows!
There was minibar/fridge in the room also room service was provided upon request. Air conditioner was not noisy and efficient. Room window opened to a nice, park with bird song.
The buffet breakfast was served on the first floor with wide variety of fresh, tasty food and drink.
In the ground floor bar you can have drink, order room service and we had our fantastic dinner there for 4 nights. The set menu was varied, they served authentic Spanish dishes as well e.g. paella.
The hotel has a rooftop pool / sauna and gym with nice view. Also there are lavatories next to the sauna (separate male and female) that can be used if you already checked out from the room but your transfer is at evening.
All over I can say only positive thoughts about Hotel Valencia Center. I will recommend to my friends and everyone and we will definitely return.
We got a message of excuses from reception for all the inconveniences with a bottle of mineral water and 4 biscuits (the same from the breakfast area). This way of excuse just disappointed me much more. Just the message would have been enough, if you do not want to spend for customers or in case you like to offer something, a card for a drink in your own bar would have been better. Day reception staff could not handle this situation in general in my opinion.
Breakfast staff and breakfast menu was delicious (a 10 on this) I would consider coming back to your hotel only for them.
Night porter Angel was really nice and gave us lots of tips to visit the city. Hotel position is really great to visit Valencia.
Location is in a residential area somewhere in the middle - half way between the old town in one direction and Valencia's beaches in the other. In front of the hotel stops bus 19 which takes you to both, however if your party is 3 or more I suggest taking a taxi (bus ride is 1,50 Eur pp, taxi takes 6-7 Euros and is faster). Calatrava's City of Art and Sciences is very close, 5 min on foot. Many eateries, bars and restaurants in the area, as well Carrefour Express next block, 2 min away.
Room was little bit small for 3 of us, but beds were comfy. Despite being on the second floor street facing, isolation was good so didn't hear any noise.
Room is cleaned every day, but you must post a sign for that on your door.
Breakfast was tasty and generous with quality cold cuts, cheese, Spanish jamon and pies, eggs, many pastries, fruits, etc....
Rooftop pool is rather a bigger bathtub. Very small and shallow - 3 people in it is a crowd. Also, only 4-5 sunbeds with no umbrellas around the pool. I used it only early in the morning before breakfast with no one there.
This was our 3rd stay in Hoteles Center chain during our 2 weeks Spain tour.
Hotel Valencia Center is at the bottom of the list - below Seville's and far below Cordoba's same brand hotel, but came at the highest price per night of all 3.
Staff at breakfast work really hard to keep food topped up and tables clear whilst always having a smile on their face.
The room was clean and the air con was quiet, which is a positive at night.
The only criticism I have was getting in and out of the bath. There was only a shower in the bath and as I am in my late 60's, I felt very vulnerable as there was nothing to hold on to.
The staff was great, the room spacious and the breakfast very good.
It is all you need to spend a few pleasant days in the very nice city of Valencia.
Pool area is very disappointing - tiny pool with about two loungers not even in the sun, and no bar.
Room service is non-existent until 11.30am so you can’t even wake up and order a coffee or tea. When we did eventually order a cup of tea, room service obviously misheard and delivered eight cups of tea to our amusement but the attendant did not see the funny side and instead was very rude and just blamed us.
The final straw was when the cleaning staff REMOVED my very sentimental blanket that I’ve had since I was born and it was never found. They claimed they didn’t take it and accused me of just losing it but I distinctly remember leaving it on my pillow in the morning only to return to the room that evening to find it missing. The two girls on reception were very unhelpful and rude, claiming it’s not their responsibility and advising I put it in the safe next time (a blanket that was wrapped up in my pyjamas? Ok). Again, no apologies or good will gesture offered. I told them as we guests we trust the cleaners in our room and with our belongings and it just felt like such a violation. They were almost laughing in my face about an item that was the last thing my granny made for me. The manager was at least a little understanding but his efforts were let down by his rude front desk staff.
Although the hotel is away from the main tourist spots its very easy to get to them. There is a hop on hop off bus stop a 10 min walk away and the taxis are reasonable
The hotel itself was really good, but beware not everything is as stated. The rooms were clean with a huge bed and flat screen TVs. The rooms were cleaned everyday and you got fresh towels.
So the negatives. If you are driving and have a large car, then you will have issues with the car park. It's underground and very narrow. We had a small Fiat Punto and really struggled to the point my wife walked in front to watch the gaps. Our friends had the same problem.
We were told there was complimentary water in the room, there isn't, and they charge 2 euros a bottle on check out.
There is no coffee/tea facilities in the room, so maybe take a small kettle.
The pool is nothing like the pictures, it's tiny and hard to get into if you have mobility problems. If you want a drink or food you have to ring down the bar and it will be brought up.
I would go back despite the negatives but would be better prepared
