Clean, comfortable room with large bed. Well positioned for old town and restaurants; easy access to bike hire for a day by the sea which we really enjoyed. Valencia has many of the benefits of Barcelona without the crowds, although there are fewer must-sees. Nevertheless, there is some interesting art in the uncrowded gallery.

Spent 3 nights at the Catalonia Excelsior hotel in May 2017. The hotel is ideally situated, very central with a 10 mins walk to the cathedral and the old town and around 5 minutes to the main plaza where you can pick up the open top tour bus. Very convenient for all of the sights, restaurants and bars. Rooms were...

This hotel is conveniently located a nice 5 min stroll to Plaza Meyor and all around Valencia. Lovely shops and restaurants all a walk away. Metro 5mins from hotel to beach around 25mins. Hotel is tastefully decorated and to high spec. The reception staff are exceptional. Always welcoming and accommodating with requests.

We spent 4 nights at the Catalonia Excelsior hotel in May 2017. The hotel is situated centrally and close to the City Hall and a 10 minute walk from the central rail station. The hotel was clean and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was well maintained and serviced daily. Bathroom facilities were good and adequate...

Centrally situated near the Plaza del Ayuntamiento it is convenient for all the sites of the old town, restaurants and cafes. It is clean and efficiently run with good sized rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast is extra and we didn't take it as there are local cafes for coffee etc. Checkout time is 12 noon which gives a good period of...

After staying in Barcelona my hotel expectations were lowered until I arrived at the Catalonia Excelsior. A five euro trip by taxi from the train station and right in the centre of the old city. The reception was welcoming, the room great, location exemplary. Would definitely stay here again. Best value for money.

The hotel was perfect for exploring the city with easy access for the Metro and shops. Plenty of lovely restaurants to eat in in the small side streets which seem to be never ending . Hotel was very good we upgraded and had a room with balcony which was well worth the extra. Rooms cleaned very well daily with tea/coffee...

This hotel is well placed to visit the old city. Most sites are within easy walking distance and there is a taxi rank round the corner for travels further afield. The hotel is very clean and tidy. However I have seen sites that advertise this hotel as having a restaurant and this is not the case. It has a very...

Good hotel, decent staff. The only 'issue' we had was the language barrier. Spanish people (at least the ones we talked to in cafe's , bar, restaurant etc.) speak poor english and as we aren't spanish speaking persons, it has occurred more than once that we ordered something and got something completely different. Including the one time we ordered liquor...
