Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had this Hotel booked for 6 days. Arriving at the Hotel gave us a huge shock. The clientele hanging around in the carpark and the outside of the hotel gave us great concern. After looking inside the hotel to witness the same people hanging around inside we cancelled our booking and left. The amount of young men hanging around made us feel unsafe

If you accept the fact that you will need to catch the bus to the port abd city centre then Hotel Manolo is a good value, clean and comfortable place to stay in Cartagena. It is either a 3km, 40 minute walk to the port or €1.20 on the number seven bus! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable with air conditioning and a fridge (which is a bonus in a Spanish hotel). The staff were courteous and helpful and the menu del noche varied and good value (there were very few restaurants open on our first night which was a Monday). There is also a lovely Spanish tapas bar within five minutes walk from the hotel - El Paso de Los Elefantes. I would recommend Hotel Manolo and the tapas restaurant.

For the price, I’ve had a lot worse. The staff were friendly and the rooms were more than adequate. The parking is a real bonus. I’ve no complaints. The only reason I wouldn’t stay again is the fact it’s a fair way out from the centre, but, to go further into the centre, you double the price of a room... so therefore.... I would definitely stay again.

The room was clean and had all the basics including good Wifi. A few amenities nearby to keep you going. It's a 2 km bus ride into town which is the only downside. The view of the petrol station from my balcony was breathtaking.

My sister and I stayed at pensión Manolo for one night, to rest on our way to Granada. The cleaning is fine, rooms are old but ok, and it has an elevator. The location it's a bit depressing or maybe we had that feeling as we arrived on Sunday. Anyhow, we could rest properly, which was the purpose of our stay.

Rooms are clean, and showers are good. The cleaning staff take pride in there work. It is a value Hotel, we use it every year when we visit Cartagena Circuit just 10 minutes away. The only downside is the Restaurant, the food is terrible. The staff do not speak any other language. If they changed the menu and got a better chef the place would be busy. The restaurant is a good size. Everyone ate elsewhere. The guys that run it are lovely, its ok for a beer in the cafe/ bar area.

The hotel is perfect for a family of two adults and three children. We had adjoining rooms with 5 single beds for two night for just 150 euros when hotels closer to the port where wanting to charge nearer to 500 euros. Nothing special just a good hotel for coming back and sleeping in peace after a busy day sightseeing, shopping and eating. There's a bus stop outside the door both sides of the road and taxis turn up in a minute to pick you up meaning you can park the car and relax. It's missing a bar and restaurant that opens more regular as it closes at set intervals throughout the day but that's not a major issue. Would book again.

I find this hotel clean, comfortable beds, very friendly and welcoming staff. There is a 24hr reception so no matter what time you arrive you will always be met with a welcoming smile, and they will speak your language.
