We were 5 couples stayed for 2 nights. Nice clean rooms and bathrooms. Very helpful staff they speak English. In heart of Madrid close to all the monuments. Walking distance. Close to shopping area and many good resturants. Clean comfortable beds. Nice clean bathrooms...... Negative point is breakfast they serve not much choice....... Very basic......

❤It was nice, clean and comfortable. Noisy because of the trafic and irresponsable drivers that made the noise in the middle of the night. It is very close to the center. It is no need to take the metro.

You should bear in mind reading this, that Flat5Madrid is not the Ritz. It is a handful of rooms on the 5th floor of a non-descript building in downtown Madrid, a 5-10 minute walk from places like Plaza Mayor. The rooms are fairly small (and fairly noisy if you're overlooking the street) and there's not much else in situ other...

We stayed here for two nights after flying into Madrid. Location is excellent near a metro stop so we could just take the metro from the airport. The shared bathrooms are very clean. The staff are great. The only problem and why I took off a star, is that you could hear the people talking in the next room and...

Flat5 was exactly as described. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was nice, well priced and convenient. Only downside is the walls are quite thin. We had the room directly next to the lift, stairs and door so we were woken up a few times during the night by people coming in. For the price we really can't...

Stayed in a private room with shared bath. The room was small but sufficient. It was clean. We faced San Bernardino, but by being on the 5th floor we weren't bothered by street noise. The shared bathroom concept consisted of three individual bathrooms that could be locked for private use. The bathrooms also were clean. In this location you can...

We booked 1 night through Booking.com, it was the last room and it was 64euro (for a hostel is a bit expensive but because of the location we decided to book it) once we made the payment (which was non-refundable) we got an email from the hostel saying that we were going to be charged 25euro EXTRA because we were...

We booked our room last minute after our flight to the states got cancelled last minute. Check-in was quick and painless. The whole place is very clean, welcoming and cozy. Although we didn't have a private bathroom, the bathrooms were very clean. I can't say enough good things about this place, other than I reviewed it on another site as...

A room you would want to live in for life. £26 for the night. Spotlessly clean. Exceptionally presented. Comfy bed. Great views in centre of Madrid. Loved opening the patio doors. Staff were lovely & very informative. TV room. Lift to top floor. 10mims from theatres & shops. Had shopping done, passed most of the landmarks & ended at the...

Small, clean and cosy room in the malasana neighboorhod. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the daywatch speaks English perfectly. This hotel / hostel is located on the 5th floor but there is an elevator. We tried the breakfast everyone recomended and it was great.

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
