It's a great place near Gran Via and Centre of Madrid! Staff very helpful and friendly. Very clean and comfortable. We didn't feel that we should share the bathroom with other guests. Also nice to have a 12pm checkout time and the ability to store our luggage.

It is indeed a very nice one. The place is being kept very clean, the staff is really helpful, and they do speak in english ( not such an often asset for spanish :p ). It's very convenient geographically, since its next to the center, and next to a metro station. The room we've been given was not very spacious... More

we stayed at Flat5 for three nights, and it was just perfect. we had the room on the other side of the reception with shared bathroom. never met anyone on that side, so it was super quiet. the staff was very friendly and helpful. the hostel is located very central and close to Gran Via (5minutes). everything is reachable through... Flat5Madrid was our chosen place of stay during our recent trip to Madrid, and they did not let us down. A stone's throw distance from the nearest metro, it's location was a major advantage. Gran Via, Puerto del Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace were all within walking distance. The building although old has a lift and the rooms are... More

❤It was nice, clean and comfortable. Noisy because of the trafic and irresponsable drivers that made the noise in the middle of the night. It is very close to the center. It is no need to take the metro.

You should bear in mind reading this, that Flat5Madrid is not the Ritz. It is a handful of rooms on the 5th floor of a non-descript building in downtown Madrid, a 5-10 minute walk from places like Plaza Mayor. The rooms are fairly small (and fairly noisy if you're overlooking the street) and there's not much else in situ other... More

We stayed here for two nights after flying into Madrid. Location is excellent near a metro stop so we could just take the metro from the airport. The shared bathrooms are very clean. The staff are great. The only problem and why I took off a star, is that you could hear the people talking in the next room and... More

Flat5 was exactly as described. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was nice, well priced and convenient. Only downside is the walls are quite thin. We had the room directly next to the lift, stairs and door so we were woken up a few times during the night by people coming in. For the price we really can't... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
