Nice little hostel in the very heart of Madrid (the Prado Museum is only 10 minutes away). Food available all day, which was very appreciated. You can make an ham&cheese toast anytime you like, plus coffee, milk, juice, cereals, muffins, fresh fruit and yogurt! Owner very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the shower was very hot! Santa Ana Colors goes way beyond what I would expect of a hostel in the UK. For me it was more a budget hotel, and a very good one at that. I would endorse other complementary comments about the 24/7 free breakfast option which don't need repeating. I was more impressed with the simple quality and cleanliness of the accommodation...

Simpel, clean hostel in the middle of the city, very reasonable price/quality. I liked the common room, where you could make your own breakfast of lunch with simple ingredients but at no extra costs. Even a Nespresso-machine avaible, als well as toaster, microwave. Staff was friendly and helpfull, but is not 24hr available. Just inform yourself and you'll have no...

The fact that there was food and drinks available whenever you wanted was amazing! There was cheese, meats, breads, muffins, cereal, jam, butter, fresh fruit, juice, milk, tea and coffee (Nespresso). There was a microwave and a toaster, which was great. The location of the hostel is great, within walking distance to most of Madrid's attractions and very close to...

We been there for 5 nights. Its nice area, some shops and restaurants and not too far for Metro. Place looks better than some hotels, nice and tidy. You need to be prepared to walk to 2nd floor with not elevator. Rooms are small but functional, don’t have numbers only colors as orange, violet, blue… and inside you got some...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
