People working in this hotel will do whatever you ask for with a smile. Everybody that we were dealing with was helpful and willing to go out of their way to make you feel amazing. We came early, took our luggage, gave us the room (amazing room) at least five hours earlier then check in time. Borrowed us umbrella until... More

Stayed in totem hotel for 3 nights and the first impression was very good, located in a quiet and high end neighborhood with a nice view. The reception area and especially the bar area was very impressive, good use of natural lighting and the decoration was impeccable. The room I was staying was pretty small, hardly found a space to... Beautiful hotel and stylishly designed. Hotel staff are all very friendly. Its located in a safe and upscale shopping area. Downsides are breakfast is lacking in choice and their mattress is too soft for me. There is a cool market right behind the hotel where locals shop. Worth a visit!

Arrived 5 hours late - at approx midnight - after a plane delay from the UK. Staff were lovely - polite, friendly, helpful - and thanks for the room upgrade for my husbands birthday Lovely atmosphere here with a funky bar and popular restaurant. The Totem Hotel was definitely a great surprise. Smack in the middle of great restaurants and shopping, this new hotel is in one of the best locations in Madrid. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable, and very clean. The room felt more like a 5 star hotel, but with a great price, since they don't over spend on superficial... More

Former Hesperia Hermosilla acquired by a different company and extensively renovated. Excellent location. Standard room size is ok, although the bathroom sink is literally in front of the bed. The staff were really outstanding and helpful, e.g. Assisting with dinner reservations and advising us where we could do laundry (we were just passing through Madrid). This Hotel is located in one of the nicest parts of Madrid, close to some of the most upmarket bars, restaurants and shops. This does however mean that it is a little way (half hour walk) from some of the main tourist areas of the city. This is inconsequential as a metro station is just around the corner and taxis... The TOTEM MADRID is tiny in comparison with other chains but huge since it is a blessing os sensations and quality from the very beginning. Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
