The hotel is situated in a great location, the metro is just 2 minute walk away and equal walking distance to the Palace and Retiro Park (approx. 20 minutes). Unfortunately the hotel is next to pubs and 2 minutes walk from the square with the metro and can get very loud with buskers and people drinking to approx. 6am. The...

Nice and quite hotel just 3 minutes walking from puerta del sol. Room was good size with 2 single beds sticked together, desk, tv set, and radio, fridge with mini bar. Bathroom clean, bathtube a bit slippy, could get an anti slip layer or something. Reception staff very helpfull, breakfast only cold (ham, cheese, jam, croissants, bread, cereals, hot and...

We had stayed here several years ago and found the location ideal. Coming back with 2 small toddlers and the hotel itself was a disappointment. 1. The upkeep and cleanliness was not what it needed to be. Towels removed but not replenished, bathroom needing a good scrub, trash not always emptied. 2. Due to the type of occupancy we required,...

My bf and I booked this hotel literally last minute, and we were not disappointed. Rooms are spacious and are cleaned well every day. Wifi woks well. Breakfast is included, but it's no big deal. Just bread, pastries, ham, salami, cheese, cereal, yogurt, juice and coffee. Its location is great, the only thing is that right across there's a restaurant/bar...

Spacious room with everything you need when staying in Madrid. Everything was very clean. Lack of maintenance and finishing touch (handrail in the bath came nearly of the wall and you definitely needed it as the bath was very slippery. Room could do with some plug sockets at the bedside and a few spare pillows. Toilet didn't flush very well....

Nice room, good food and walking distance of Plaza España and a lot of good stores. Prices very affordable. Easy access to the tourist bus and taxis. You can take a taxi to Atocha train station and in 20 minutes you are in Toledo.

Fantastic location. Great breakfast buffet for 6 euros. bathtub!! Incredibly helpful front desk staff. Small, boutique hotel. Only downside is the street scene is a bit noisy at night but that is what happens when one is in the center of the action. Would definitely stay here again.

Three good things: location, rooms were clean, staff friendly and efficient. I'm not sure if it was just our room affected or others, but we backed onto a hostel so there was noise and music until around 5am each night, so we slept really badly. Also really noisy from around 7am onwards as you could hear everyone moving around in...

Stayed for two nights. Spacious room and clean. Just don't stay at the corner rooms because it can be very noisy at night due to the bar on the ground floor, otherwise, everything should be good. Location is excellent for our needs.

I stayed in Victoria 4 with my family in july 2015 ! It's a wonderful hotel for a 3 stars rating hotel. The rooms are so clean and the staff is friendly ! The breakfast is in the basement but it's okay. It consists of an European breakfast. It's 2 minutes away of puerta del sol the heart of madrid...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
