In February I went to Cat's Hostel with the Dutch Student Orchestra. We came with 80 people, which is a lot of people. The contact with Daniela beforehand was very nice. She is clear in her mails and speaks English fluently. During our stay, the orchestra enjoyed Madrid and the hostel very much. The rooms were big and clean, there...

The last stop of my trip was back in Madrid, this time I decided to stay at Living Mad’s sister hostel, Cat’s, as my experience at Mad was great. Here also, the staff is sooo friendly and the hostel spotless clean. They have a bar and a cave’s bar where every evening there is something going on. I had such...

The morning walking tour was super. The front desk offered to store my bags since I arrived before check in. Great prices for a great location. I did have to request a room change because of the strong odor. The front desk sold me one of their pad locks but once in my room I realized it was a magnetic...

Hi, we are very sorry for this misunderstanding. The receptionist make you an upgrade to a smaller room where we have electronic lockers and she did not know you did not need the padlock anymore. Our apologies again ( you wrote the same review in HW page) for that mistake. We are happy to know that you enjoyed the walking...

positive: The location is excellent for sight seeing Madrid, service is not bad at all. The people, place and ambience is very hippy, its a different category (lower obviously) than any Generator hostel but at the same price; but it's "clean.". The people working in the restaurant and lobby seems kind of unhygienic, again, hippy place. If you aren't looking...

Hi, thank you for your comment. As you said, there is nothing to do with hostels as a generator which is probably the kind of hostel you would be happy to stay in. We are very different and that is why so many people prefer to stay here. We apology for the fact that you needed to ask to open...

I was at this hostle, for 4 nights. From the beginning I knew I was going to have a great time. The receptionist were so kind and friendly. Anytime I needed to ask a question about the hostle or about the city, they were very helpful and useful, and that's very important for me when I stay at a hostle....

The hostel is located right in the heart of the city. The rooms are clean and are available in various options. What makes my stay amazing here is the hospitality of the staff; may it be people at the reception, cleaning staff or people at the bar, they are just so amazing and cool. Special mention of Nacho and Lourdes-she...

Stayed at the cats hostel on a recent trip to Madrid with friends, and would recommend it to anyone who wants a fun place to meet new people. Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
