Really liked the walking tour by Gianpaolo Guercio. Made learning about Madrid interesting and not overdone. I would recommend it for people just getting to Madrid. Rooms are clean and they have a cheap breakfast.

The atmosphere is wonderful. Very nice people, clean rooms and the area with the fountain is just amazing! At the morning there was a option to have a breakfast - it's nothing special, but it's better than going out.

We have spent three nights in this hostel. We had a double room (number 8) at the ground floor, just nearby the bar. It has been literally impossible to sleep: drum music and people shouting till 2 o'clock (minimum) a.m. without any filter or control. It has been a shame and a pity, because the place is cosy, central and...

The facility was lovely and they provide awesome things like pub crawls so it's super easy to meet incredible people. I was however very upset with the leaders of the pub crawl and people at the front desk. I got lost at the last club which I take responsibility for because I was the one who was drunk but then...

Hi there, Thank you for giving us your feedback. We are really sorry for that situation. What I think is the person who told to you by phone probably did not understand you, I am afraid. The club is very close to the hostel and you do not even need a cab to come back to the hostel, if you...

Only for to stay one night, but the staff was wonderful, the atmosphere was lively and the rooms were really nice. Wish I could have stayed longer! They also offer lots of great activities. The common room is also one of the best I've come across in Europe.

Excellent location to train station and walking distance to all the tourist attractions. Staff was very nice and helpful. Loved the free walking tour courtesy of Violet. She did an amazing job and took us to a great place for tapas. I had a private room with ensuite however the ensuite was not connected to the room but the toilet...

A good "party" hostel, lots of young people, nice atmosphere, shared places are confortable and good for knowing people. It is located in one of the nicest, most popular and touristic neighborhoods in Madrid. My experience was in an 8 person shared room, which was clean and confortable enough for what I would expect for a room and hostel of...

As far as hostels go, this is one of the best! I stayed two nights in Room #1 (an 8-person mixed room). I would recommend females opt for the girl's only rooms when possible if you'd rather not deal with the smell of stinky boy feet. All my roommates were super fun and considerate. The hostel is surprisingly quiet at...

The hostel was great in every sense, the location is great, walking distance from everywhere. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are tidy and comfortable and the bar and common areas provide everything you need to meet new people or to chill by yourself. I would definitely recommend this hostel!

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
