Its a very large smart modern hotel-more for business than a family/couple going to Madrid for a short stay. Its well located but to walk around the real centre ,its too far but is only a 5 minute taxi. The food was excellent as was the bedroom. There are restaurants nearby

This was our final stay of our 21-day Globus tour of Portugal, Spain, and Morocco. The Novotel is a good hotel. The rooms are clean, though a bit on the small side, adequate, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The amenities aren't bad in the hotel either. The location of this hotel was my biggest concern. It's about...

Stayed here for a conference. First the good things: Free wifi was fine to stream movies no problem. Reception staff were helpful and spoke good English. Location is good- about ten minutes walk from Retiro Park. Conference facilities and staff were basic but adequate. Minor irritations included poster boards being too small and water bottles in conference room having faulty...

I was there for a conference but was a little disappointed. One of the problems is that a lot of the staff don't speak English very well which leads to miscommunications. For me this was the case over food where they seemed to find it very difficult to understand what 'vegetarian' means. Choice for vegetarians was poor anyway. My friend...

Before and during our stay we received all the support we needed. The services were excellent, in the room and in the restaurant. Unbeatable price-quality ratio. Very well located, near Calle de Goya area is about 2.5 km far from the center (requires transport). Nearby metro stations, taxis at the door and Uber in 2-5 minutes. Breakfast is excellent.

We stayed here for three nights in February which cost approx £190. The hotel is very modern and we liked this style. All public areas are well kept and bright, staff were helpful. Location - this hotel is not very central if you are in Madrid as a tourist. We like a walk, but it was around 30 mins to...

Convenient location, only minutes away from a Corte Ingles shopping mall and metro station Goya, which sets you less than 20 minutes away from the center. Rooms very comfortable, with a nice bathroom, but with shower only, no bathtub, unfortunately, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Breakfast buffet is excellent, with a vast choice, from croissants to eggs and...

Stayed here for 2 nights with family and it was a great hotel - staff were welcoming and the rooms are well-sized and comfortable. Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
