A very good place with perfect location in the city center of Madrid. With breakfast and lots of activities such us free tour of Madrid at 10:30 or "sangría" and "paella". A really good environment with quieter floors. Amazing and entertainment. Excellent views of one of the main streets in Madrid. With quieter floors. And very good accessibility.

I only stayed for one night because I had a flight to catch, but I had everything that I needed while I was there. The floors were interestingly decorated though the bathroom was small and the breakfast was basic. Most importantly, the two men at the front desk that I met were very kind and helpful!

Excellent budget option in the city. Secure rooms and lockers, helpful staff, good location. Breakfast is included. There aren't enough bathrooms though and they really really should stop using all the disposable plastic cutlery and plates for breakfast - it’s so bad for the environment. Recommend for young budget travellers.

Such a fantastic hostel! Beyond the great localization, the hostel has programmed a lot of events for all the week, like free paella day, that you can enjoy. The team are so nice and helpful and the space is very nice! Next time I will be in Madrid, definitely I will stay here again :D 10*

Had a great time in Madrid. The pub crawl was nice! If you want to party with backpackers, this is the place to stay. Young crowd that likes to go out. Everything you need is within walking distance too.

Staff were great, location really good but the layout of the hostel means that you can hear everything going on so if there is a loud group (which there was during my stay) good luck getting any sleep! Not a bad hostel for meeting people though, and they do social events. Breakfast could be improved.

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.

La Posada de Huertas is in an ideal location in central Madrid, situated between the museums and the main shopping and nightlife district. Hostelworld guests have told us 'the location is fantastic; you can walk around to all the attractions if you want' and 'you can get to the heart of all nightlife in Sol in less than 10 minutes' from here. We like that the hostel has events happening nearly every day, with highly-praised entertaining and informative free walking tours and 'enough good common areas and activities to help you get to know Madrid' ... more   less
