If you want to be near the hub of everything, but find the accomodation too expensive, then this is a slightly better option, situated a very short walk away from Seville station, which is not far from the action in the Sol and Gran Via areas. The hotel itself is very comfortable, the breakfast is amazing, and the staff at...

2/3 of the hotel rooms do not have daylight, in fact they either have a huge wall in front of their windows or windows looking into a chimney style funnel. This creates a very claustrophobic feeling. In case you don't mind that or by any chance can get one of the nicer rooms this hotel may be quite ok. The...

The two big highlights of the hotel are 1. the great location (20 meters from the local metro( and walking distance to the Sol and the city center -- only 5 min. walk. 2. Great breakfast - fresh, rich and satisfying. the room was a bit small , but very clean and very quiet. the staff was great !

We had the pleasure of dealing with a gentlemen at the front desk by the name MARCO. He checked us into the hotel. His customer service was great, he went through details of our booking, provide us with useful information / services of the hotel and provided us with a map of the city. He was great to speak with...

We booked into a terrace room on the highest floor. And we're glad we did. The room size was small-ish and having the terrace made us feel less claustrophobic. Hotel is close to Principe Road, Alcala and a plaza which had a lot of restaurants. Also close to Puerta del Sol from where you can catch the Hop on-Hop off...

Stayed here 3 nights on a city break. Deluxe room booked and was sufficient however not exactly "Deluxe" There was no Tea/Coffee facilities in the room although our booking listed this, furthermore the view was hardly what could be called "City View". To compensate we received free coffees in the reception area. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the...

Room with terrace. Loved being able to open windows and get fresh air and walk outside. Could hear neighboring rooms occasionally. Fantastic central location. Yes you can hear the road, but considering it is the central city it was really quiet.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
