The apartment is very attractive and characterful. The staff were very helpful but I would have liked more instructions in the apartment. The washing machine was also a dryer, for example, but found this out by chance. The instructions were in Polish, or a similar language, so not very useful. The spare bedding was stored in the bed base and... More

The apartment was well located close to restaurants and within walking distance of all the sights we desired to see. It had cooking facilities and, importantly for someone who has been away awhile, a clothes washer.

Stayed for 4 nights in room 304. Excellent location, spacious, well stocked apartment, close to all our favourite places. Very quiet at night despite overlooking the street. Would definetly stay here again.

Stayed in room 304 for four nights over long weekend in September. Early check in was straightforward with Marc being on hand. The apartment was much quieter than a previous one that we stayed in nearby Calle de Cruz so that was good. The apartment itself we found to be spacious and well equipped with a kitchen and a washer/dryer... More

Arrived early room was ready so check in was quick and easy. Apartment very nice with good facilities and bang in the heart of the city, all the major landmarks are within easy walking distance. On the downside the aircon unit was very noisy so we turned it off at night even though it was hot and there was a... More

The apartment was absolutely fantastic. We were on the 3rd floor facing the main street. The room was a double bed studio, very spacious and clean. We did not use the kitchen facilities as we ate out for all meals. However, the kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans if you did want to stay in. We had no... More

We stayed at Huertas for 20 nights and were very comfortable. The apartment had everything we needed to cook many of our meals and was a few minutes walk to El Cortes Ingles supermarket at Sol. It was also close to the Atocha train station, the Prado, the Thyssen, Reina Sofia, Caixa Forum, Plaza Mayor, and El Retiro. You're a... More

We stayed here for what was meant to be 3 nights but was dropped to two owing to cancelled flights. We emailed them and informed them that we'd be a day late and they kept the apartment for us. Excellent! On booking.com it lists parking as available - there is not. Having driven (thanks to cancelled flights!) from England to... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.

“You have every facility in room to manage even a fairly long stay with hand luggage only which can be a saving on the budget! Also as a courtesy to other guests some soft shoes or socks should be worn at night, the hard wood floors can be very noisy in hard soles or heels!!”
