Hostal Adriano is a great place to stay if you're visiting Madrid. FAB location with Plaza Mayor and Prado museum and Retiro park all in easy walking distances. Room was super clean and came with a fridge, a safety deposit, good shower and towels were also provided. Walls are slightly on the thin side so we heard some noise from... More

We really enjoyed our stay here in Madrid. It was a perfect place for us to start our trip. I am a 20 year old female travelling with another 20 year old female and Hostal Adriano fit our needs perfectly. We stayed a twin room with a private bathroom. Before we left for our trip the hostal staff provided us... More

Hostal Adriano was everything we wanted, location, friendly staff and spotlessly clean with a fridge and free wifi. Walkable to all the main sites and surrounded by some really good bars and restaurants including Le Jardin. Definitely staying here again when we go in December

Behind a nondescript door in Madrid's Calle della Cruz, and on the fourth floor (served by an efficient lift) , is this little gem of Madrid Minimalism. The small rooms have every accompaniment to a quiet and enjoyable stay. The central heating works efficiently with the touch of a button. The beds are luxuriously comfortable. The interior decor shows an... More

Stayed here for six nights and highly recommend it. Our room appeared to have been recently refurbished and was lovely. It was serviced daily. The bathroom was small but adequate and had a good supply of hot water. The staff were knowledgeable and most helpful. Our balcony door was triple glazed which blocked the street noise, but we could hear... More

Hostal Adriano is only 200m from Sol Metro and surrounded by reasonable restaurants. All the important sites to visit are within 15 minutes walking. The room we had was large with en suite. Our linen was changed alternate days of our six night stay. It is in a secure building. Our noisiest night was when Madrid was full of Manchester... More

The room was very clean and pleasant, nicely designed. The staff was very nice, knows english well and ready to help. The elevator had malfunction on Saturday night and was fixed... More

Clean room, helpful staff, including late check-in, but best of all, the great location in lively area of Madrid, conveniently close to Metro, good local bars & restaurants. There was a lot of noise from the street overnight, so room location not ideal.

The location of the hotel is excellent. You are surrounded by many bars and restaurants. However on a Friday night this area is loud and unless your partying all night sleep is difficult. We had a room on the street which I don't recommend. The walls are paper thin in the hotel and the bathroom had a musty smell. I... More

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
