If you like to have the independence of your own flat in a superb location, this is it. Staff are very nice, chilled environment...the building hosts long term residents and holidaymakers. Rooms are basic but fully equipped with tv, mini kitchen, lovely bathroom (room 216). There's a swimming pool open from 11:00 to 21:00 in summer. Laundry and dryer room,...

This is a good place to stay for the price. We only stayed 6 hours as we arrived at midnight, easily accessed by metro from the airport, and left at 6 to stroll to Avda America station nearby. The room was spacious and very clean and most importantly it was quiet. It was cool too, with aircon. We would be...

Located near metro station in a nice area of Madrid. Rooms are quite large, I booked a small studio for an acceptable price compared to the quality. Service was good, there is always an employee at the reception desk 24/7. Wifi was ok, though access needed to be gained by repeatedly entering the acces-code. Airconditioning was terrible, it functioned hardly....

Very good apartments in the Salamanca area of Madrid, with underground parking next door if needed, and the Metro station about a 20 second walk away. Apartments were clean and very well-maintained. Comfortable beds, very good bathroom and a reasonable kitchenette for self-catering. There is a lovely pool which is great for cooling off in the heat of summer! Staff...

After missing a flight and sitting in an airport for 24 hours, our trip easily could have become a nightmare when we arrived and found that our reservation was non-refundably cancelled when we didn't arrive on time the day before. But the staff was outstanding making sure that we got our original room for no extra charge. We walked into...

From airport, with one connection-change, arrived in front of the appartamentos. Room is basic but clean (new bathroom) and has a basic kitchinette. Towels and bedsheets were replaced after 3 days. Exterior view to an airshaft and other apartments. No problem if you are visiting the city. Location is ideal, supermarket next-door, restaurants, metro-entry on 50 meters. No luxery, but...

..this is your place: you get what you pay. A 70s style decoration, oainting not renewed for many, many, many years, cleaning less than perfect, depresing furniture.. In the other hand well located in Salamanca area, close to all shopping areas. Very cheap for the location but only acceptable if you are not very demanding. The staff is nice and...

These apartments are great value. The rooms are a decent size, clean enough and well equipped. The hotel is in a good location. And all of this for 50 euros a night. But they also have their downside. They are dark and can be noisy (not just other residents but also the plumbing). So I suspect they'll suit some people...

We stayed here 2 nights after dropping our rental car at the Airport. Access to the Airport is great via the adjacent Metro subway station - about 35 minute trip including one transfer at Nuevos Ministerios station. We walked to Retiro Park in about 20 minutes. Walking to Palacio Real would take about 1 hour if we had not stopped...

I have stayed here twice. On both occasions I stayed during the summer pool months and got to enjoy a super swimming pool area considering this is a very reasonably priced hotel. The location is unquestionably good. Metro is immediately outside the building. Good cafes are close by and it is in a relatively smart location. Nearby you have some...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.

“Get a 3-person room overlooking the pool-even if you're only 2 people. Worth the extra little bit of money for the increase in space&view”

“I had an exterior room during one visit and an interior room overlooking an internal patio area on my most recent visit. Didn't really notice any great difference besides the view, naturally nicer if you get an exterior room as it overlooks the main street which is more attractive than the patio view.”
