I'm staying here currently... just me and a female friend in a twin room. We came back after a lovely meal and a (disturbing) night out .... a guy called James decided to get into our taxi back, I paid and we made it clear that we were saying BYE when we got out. Unfortunately James followed us into our...

This happened to be one of the cheapest hotels in Central Madrid when booked. (+): - Location in the heart of Chamberí. Chamberí is kind of the "posh but lively" area in Madrid. There are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, etc around and walking distance to many attractions in the city - Natural light: The hotel is in a corner so...

This is an excellent little hotel for short stays in Madrid, suitable for both business and leisure travelers. Location: Located in Chamberi, a great lively neighbourhood close to central Madrid. 3-4 min away from two metro lines means you can easily get anywhere - 15min to Puerta De Sol or Gran Via. It has the extra bonus to be away...

My family and I we had stayed over the years in this gem. It is best in location and their service is outstanding. Don't missed the daily lunch menu with the locals. The neighborhood is very nice and connection to three metro stations.

The location is an easy walk to the central and metro stations. The statf were all great very helpful to all of our needs. Close to many shops, resturants, bars and church. They also stored our luggage for several days while we took side trips.

This is a great place for short visits to Madrid, it is located in Chamberi neighborhood, very close to Plaza Olavide, where you can find a lot of restaurants, including a new vegetarian one where I ate this past summer, don’t remember the name now. Around Plaza Olavide there are good beer bars as well. Hotel Trafalgar is at walking...

Was recommended the hotel as a good budget option by a friend who lived in the area and was not disappointed. It is not at all fancy but is just fine and is in a nice area. There are about 4 metro stops 5 minutes walk away in different directions so easy to connect. I also walked into Madrid centre...

Nice, basic hotel. Very plain. NO mini-bar. No free WiFi, but free dial-up if your devices can still cope with the cables! Reasonable walk from city center, with lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. Everything I needed, and at a great price.

This hotel is nice with a really good location. Short walk to the city centre about 30 minutes. Lots of stores and restaurants near by. Although during siesta and on Sunday most are closed. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast deal as there is it is lacking in variety. Staff also speak little English and are somewhat friendly. Rooms are average...

Doesn't provide much but good value for price, first I was in a very small room with good view and light, the room consisted of one single bed and some space for legs and a small suitcase. When viewing TV you had to sit on the bed, a chair would not fit. The other room that I got (corner room)...

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
