Easy location to find and friendly reception staff. But that's about as good as it gets. The rooms were far to warm, making it difficult to sleep. The service at the bar was poor. I wouldn't stay here again. The place needs some TLC.

Average hotel, room okay, bed not that comfortable, breakfast okay but....,right by the entrance to piramides station which is great for transport. Ideal for airport - 40mins direct - plaza mayor and opera - 4 stops etc and bus stop outside straight to prado. It made going out and travelling around very easy.

This hotel is right outside the train and metro station. You can get the train from the airport direct to Piramides in about 40 minutes. The metro station is here too. The number 34 bus stops outside and goes to the Prado museum. The hop on hop off bus goes to Puerto Toledo and is an easy walk from the hotel. We had breakfast in the hotel and there was a good selection of hot and cold dishes. There are lots of bars and restaurants near the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and we found the staff very helpful.

This hotel is conveniently located right next to a subway station. The subway takes you to the center of Madrid in 3-5 stops. There are also commuter trains that go outside the city of Madrid and stop at the piramides station as well. The area around the hotel, while quiet, has quite a nice variety of nice restaurants and cafes, very economical. The area felt very safe too walk around. The trip to the airport from the hotel was about 30 euros. That's about average for anywhere in Madrid. The hotel itself may need some updates but out is very clean and all the amenities worked well. Breakfast was very complete and offered a variety of options. The breakfast room was never full to capacity, therefore no struggles to find a table. The personal are very polite and the rooms were very comfortable. If you are traveling with family, note they their double rooms are for only 2 occupants (2 twin beds). A family of 4 would be better off in an executive room.

My father had a medical emergency and had to have surgery which forced him to change plans. We tried to cancel the reservation over a week in advance. The hotel refused. We are out $264 dollars because of their cancellation policy. Holiday Inn, can you guess which hotel brand will not be getting any more of my family's money?

Dear Jorge, Thank you very much for taking your time in sending us your comments. We regret and understand your frustration but our hotel also always offers the possibility of a flexible reservation that allows changes and cancellations, but in your father´s case the option chosen and confirmed was a reservation with a special price with discount and conditions, which is clearly non-refundable booking. Thank you very much for your suggestions. Esther Santamaria Hotel Manager
