Our stay a your facilities was extraordinary, Superb attention, and excellent location of hotel, next to Plaza del Sol and all what that implies. Breakfast is my favorite meal and you made a dream come true on each one of the occassions we had it. Exquisite bread, marvellous coffe, not to mention the assortment of chesses and hams and fresh...

This hotel was within easy walking distance of all the sights in Madrid. There are great tapas bars in the area. The hotel was perfect for us as we had driven and the hotel has underground parking at a very reasonable rate €20 per day. The staff were helpful and efficient. Breakfast was a buffet which had a reasonably good...

My wife and I had 2 nights here in October 2014. Room was great and at the back of hotel because we had asked for a quiet room. The breakfast was superb with a huge choice of cheeses, breads, meats and cooked food on offer. The staff were helpful whenever we asked for anything and all parts of the hotel...

Fab location. Definite fab location! Easy to get a transfer from the international airport and then to dump bags and walk out the door direct into the heart of Madrid. Plaza Major, Prado museum, Royal palace, everything a 30min walk from hotel. Staff was friendly enough. Room was standard, comfy bed. Keep an eye out for specials, I got a...

Excellent location, walking distance from good restaurants, downtown attractions, museums, etc. . All the hotel personnel is very attentive and friendly; always ready to help. Food served at the restaurant is very good. We had breakfast daily at its restaurant while we stayed in this hotel. I stayed in this hotel a few years a ago and noticed they had...

Very centrally located hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is excellent with a lot of choice. Reception desk and concierge are very flexible and always ready to help. Price, quality a super hotel which has the advantage of being located 2min away from plaza del sol.

All staff genuinely friendly and helpful. Good location close to Sol, for shopping if you must, but central to walk to other locations; Plaza Mayor, galleries etc. Rooms are good and clean but no kettles (though I didn't ask for one). But drinks prices, alcohol and coffee are amazingly reasonable by any standards let alone a city centre hotel. Breakfast...

The staff was friendly and professional! The Concierge was especially helpful. The hotel was clean, the rooms were quiet. Breakfast was very good. I would definitely book this hotel if I was to return to Madrid.

First of all, it is important to know and to clarify - the building next door is under construction work on a large scale that make the stay at this period unbearable, sounds of jackhammers reach every corner of the hotel, even when the windows are locked. The reception is very small, more like a roadhouse and not a 4...

I stayed at the hotel for the weekend. The location is great, easy walks to all major sights and the Atletico stadium if you want to watch a game like we did. We have requested a quiet room which was granted. Nothing to complain about at all, would always come back.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
