If you can't stand hotels give this lovely place a chance. In the center of Madrid but still quiet, building full of history but rooms comfortable and above all generous and kind hosts. Placed in a part of Madrid where you can't go more than 50 m between good restaurants or cafes.

We stayed at the Artistic B&B in December last year whilst visiting our son. now living in Madrid . Alvaro and May could not have been more friendly informative and helpful . It is situated in a great, central and historic location very near to restaurants and museums Delightful and creative decor Our room was warm, comfortable and very quiet at night and great breakfasts shared with other travellers. We had booked to return in March and May this year but were very disappointed that Covid 19 put an end to our plans. Alvaro could not have been more professional and understanding in returning in full our payments despite the obvious financial pressures for their business. We would have no hesitation in staying there again if and when we can travel to Madrid

I've been there in December'19 and it was amazing.
We were 4 in a room full of birds (pictures won't lie), with a private bath and we were all very confortable.
In the morning there were always a very well prepared breakfast that hold us till one if the so many lunches in that wonderful town.
And of course our hosts (Alvaro and May) always ready for a very pleasant conversation (Spanish, English, Portuguese :-) )
When you get out to the streets it is amazing. You are really in the center of Madrid. Plenty of restaurants, Museus, gardens, bars.
And at night you can sleep like a baby, because the Calle is so peacefull.
I strongly recommend this apartments to every one of my friends and I must get back.
Muchas gracias Alvaro y May, you make us feel like home. I miss you.

For car Parking I recommend "Atocha 70".

I am so glad I made the choice to book this hotel. I was well accommodated by the staff, who managed to deliver a personalized experience while observing safe practices amid Covid. The street it is located on is very charming. Cafe Gonzalez and Feliz Cafe only a few feet from the front door, you have some of the best spain has to offer at your fingertips. I loved my little balcony. The room was beautiful and always sparkling clean. There were several spontaneous street performances nearby (violin, theater) which you will not find on any street in the center. Alvaro goes above and beyond to ensure that his guests feel comfortable and happy. He has great advice for navigating the city for those traveling for the first time. I highly recommend this place and hope I can return soon!

When we arrived we did not have a code to access the building/room, however we had been on a train without Internet. Luckily there was a man emptying the bins from inside the building who was more than happy to assist. He contacted the owner who then spoke to me on the phone and was extremely apologetic and explained that he had been trying to contact me all day to provide the code. Alvaro was amazing and promptly provided all the information we needed in regards to accessing the building and room, WiFi access and provided photos to avoid any confusion. He also sent maps so we had the location of the hotel just in case, as well as a map with restaurant information which was fabulous. He ensured we had the necessary information to get the included breakfast from the two cafeterias which were about 2 minutes from the hotel. He also told me to feel free to contact him if I had any doubts.
Alvaro also arranged a taxi for us the next day to ensure we could get to the train station which we really appreciated.
Overall, Alvaro made our visit even more amazing as he made us feel nothing was too much trouble and that he valued us as visitors to his hotel.
The rooms are all unique and absolutely beautifully decorated with such style.
Absolutely love this place and the outstanding service.
We went for breakfast at the Brown Bear and that was also delightful.
Alvaro also arranged a taxi for us the next day to ensure we could get to the train station which we really appreciated.
Overall, Alvaro made our visit even more amazing as he made us feel nothing was too much trouble and that he valued us as visitors to his hotel.

So nice we stayed twice. My husband and I had fabulous stay at Artistic B&B. Alvaro and May are such lovely hosts and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Madrid. At check in we were given a map of the area with suggestions for dining and basic directions for getting around, which was quite helpful and much appreciated. The location is perfect, walking distance to all of the art museums, city center and not too far from the Royal Palace. We also walked to the Atocha train station (all downhill) for our fast train to Barcelona where we stayed for 3 nights. The plan was to explore a new neighborhood upon returning to Madrid for the final two nights but we decided to return to the Artistic B&B because we loved it that much. Breakfast was great, beds were comfortable, water pressure was good. Can't say enough good things about this place. Muchas Gracias

It is hard to overstate the wonderful care May and Alvaro took of my wife and I during our recent three night stay with them. Coming from Jordan our luggage was delayed 48 hours, which created some medical related problems for us. May and Alvaro spent a number of hours on the phone helping us remedy the situation, and Alvaro even accompanied me to the airport to make sure we got our luggage. We travel extensively and have never received such personal and caring attention. I would rate them six stars if I could. Thank you May and Alvaro.

I had a trip planned for Madrid in May and had reservations at Artistic B&B. As most people we had to cancel. When I contacted B&B to cancel it was hassle free and I promptly receive a refund. Not only that, but there was true kindness and concern for all from B & B. When I am able to reschedule this trip this will be the first reservation I make. I can’t wait to meet the amazing staff!

We couldn’t have asked for better hosts than Alvaro and May. Any questions emailed prior to our stay, were answered promptly. Clear and helpful information was provided on how to get from the airport to our accommodation, which was in a great area. Everywhere we wanted to visit was in walking distance. There were plenty of restaurants, bars and tapas places nearby, as well as shops. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was plenty to eat at breakfast time and there were tea and coffee making facilities in the common/dining room. If we go back to Madrid we would certainly try to book a room here.

We were pleased with the way we were treated in this time of unprecedented challenges. After canceling our reservations, we were promptly told that a refund was in order. Given the circumstances, it took some time but communication with the owner was excellent. We will book a reservation with Artistic B & B again in the future when conditions are more favorable.

The easiest way to get from tha aiport is of course the taxi, flat rate, 30 euros. It takes about 25 minutes.
You can also use public transportation (express bus or train are the best option). If you eventually book with us, don't worry because we will send you all the detailed information on how to get to us from the aiport.
ABout coffe, in fact we do offer coffee and tea all day long in the communal area. There's a kettle and you can make it your own. There's a small table with all the necessary things next to the breakfast table.

Unfortunately there is not a lift and you must walk up rather steep stairs to access the Artistic B and B in Madrid. Be aware of this fact if you have any sort of disability and/or heavy luggage. You are in for a hike.
