My husband and I loved this hotel! When we arrived we were notified that our room had been upgraded. Our room was beautiful and very clean! The staff was helpful and speaks English if you do not speak Spanish. They gave us suggestions for sites to see. The location is close to all the main Madrid sites so you can...

We loved this boutique hotel, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, large space, centrally located and best of all great staff. We walked everywhere no need for a taxi or bus unless you want to explore outside Madrid. We stayed for 9 nights.

Stayed here for 3 nights as a family of 5 in a two bedroom apartment and sofabed in the living room. Prior to our stay I was e-mailed by the hotel to confirm details and to offer airport transfers etc. - I found this to be a really personal touch. The hotel is located in a busy main street and...

We paid Euro150 a night for a 3 night stay. Family of 4. The apartment we had was absolutely massive! Lots of character, high ceilings, retained lots of original features. 2 double en suite bedrooms and fully equipped kitchen. I was pinching myself. And the location is perfect for being able to walk absolutely everywhere you need to go in...

I wasn't sure what to expect when we booked this hotel. But all of us were pleasantly surprised! First of all, the staff were WONDERFUL! Anything we asked for they were able to help. From Restaurant reservations to tour guides to room requests. This was an apartment building turned into hotel. So each apartment was a suite. Very large suites....

Maybe I'm just picky, but when a place calls itself a luxury hotel, I'll review it as such. The apartment was big enough, with nice kitchen and bathroom space, both much larger than you would expect to find anywhere in Europe. The issues we had were with the beds and with the service. Starting with the beds - my boyfriend...

Dear Madam, Thank you very much for writing your opinion. I am really sorry you had some problems in your stay. About the hairdryer I have to tell you that we changed it for one new because it was broken. My colleagues went to your room to explain the instructions about the coffee machine and the washing machine. I apologize...

Wow! This place really lives up to its name. We arrived in Madrid before check-in ( flight from Houston) around 11:00 AM and our junior suite wasn't ready so the front desk attendant took our luggage, directed us to a nearby eatery and called us an hour later to tell us our suite was ready. When we got back, he...

I thought a suites hotel would have a separate bedroom and living room, but this hotel has a large bath, large living room and a full kitchen (with clothes washer) all impeccably clean. The staff is friendly and helpful and each speaks good English. The location is unbeatable. Close to the Prado Museum and within walking distance to Plaza Mayor...

We loved the location of hotel as convenient to restaurants, lovely park and sites in city center. The spacious rooms and kitchen makes it nice for a long stay to easily enjoy your own snacks. Staff are very friendly and helpful in assisting with arrangements. We would definitely stay here again when doing business or visiting Madrid.

I would have given this hotel a higher rating except for a sewer type smell that was emanating from the bathroom. When we first arrived the room smelled heavily of a scented spray/perfume, which unfortunately in itself did not smell that great. However we quickly got used to the smell and the room was very nice. It was a 2...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
