I had an overnight transit in Madrid and needed a place to stay the night. I chose the Tryp as it was attractively priced and located in central Barajas, one stop away from the airport by metro. It was pouring heavily when I got to the hotel in the evening, and I was soaking wet. On hearing that the hotel restaurant is closed due to covid and that they do not provide any umbrellas for customers, I thought I will go to bed hungry, but fortunately, the rain stopped shortly after that. Check-in was quick, and my room on the second floor was of average size for a four-star. It felt outdated, but was clean and in good condition. There was a socket by the bed for charging your phone, and another at the desk. The ”double” bed consisted of twin beds placed next to each other. There was a safe in the room, but no other amenities, such as water bottles, were provided. Apart from the desk, there was also an armchair and a coffee table as well as a balcony (with no chairs). The bathroom was of decent size and came with a full-size bathtub as well as a hand-held shower. Water pressure was fine. Unfortunately, there were no individual toiletries, but instead only wall-mounted containers. The hotel being at very low occupancy, I asked for a late check-out at 3 pm. 2 pm was the best they could offer, though. When I went down at 2 pm to leave my bag at reception and take an hour-long walk around the area before proceeding to the airport, the receptionist said I could store my bag in my room but he took the key. Not surprisingly, when I came back closer to 3 pm and got another key to retrieve my bag, the room had not yet been cleaned. It remained unclear to me why I couldn’t just as well have stayed in the room an hour longer. The hotel restaurant was open for breakfast only. There are restaurants a few blocks away, and there is a large supermarket as well as a small Chinese supermarket, open late at night, a few minutes’ walk away. The hotel is located in central Barajas, which will keep you occupied for an hour or two if you want to go out and explore. Note that even if the hotel is close to the airport, it’s not easy to get to. Barajas metro station is about 750 m from the hotel. Theoretically, there is a free shuttle, but it runs according to a sporadic schedule and in my case there was no suitable departure. Instead of leaving an hour too early, I opted to walk to the metro and take it to T4. I was in the check-in hall of T4 20 minutes after leaving the hotel.…
Stayed during the time Madrid was in lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Hotel was very comfortable and there was room service with a very limited menu. Unfortunately, I could rate the amenities due to their closure. Staff were great and were trying to cope with the situation. I would stay here again when I return to Spain under better circumstances.
The hotel is not bad but the service was the worst that i have ever seen. We have been waiting more than one hour at 11pm at the evening of January for the shuttle to take us from the airport, even that i have called at the hotel. As long as we have been waiting the shuttles of the other hotels have passed a few times. Because the mistake of the booking reservation they made me pay twice even that in their computer and in my document it was completely visible, but the receptionist didn’t paid absolutely any attention. It was 17.01 the women was at middle age with glasses. Their mail is invalidated because i have tried many times to send them the documents and show them their mistake. I have called many times a lot of which wasn’t administration. Booking had the amazing service and did a great job because the mistake was because of the booking app, but the hotel didn’t want to support, because for them it was better to take my money twice. They could pay attention and see that the reservation number in my document and the reservation number in their computer doesn’t correspond. The room was full of dust, maybe a lot of time nobody wasn’t accommodated there, but this is not an excuse. I am so disappointed and don’t recommend this hotel. The hotel doesn’t worth the money. The only thing that i can say it was good there is the breakfast.…
We choice this hotel because we have stayed at a Tryp hotel in Jerez. Plus it is very close to the airport so we could catch our early flight without having to get up too early. We came into Madrid on the train and got to the airport. We called for their shuttle and they said they didn't have one. But they do. We took it in the morning to get to the airport. It runs every 30 minutes. I don't know why they told us that. They said to take the city bus. We had a hard time finding the bus. Finally we took a cab, even though it was a short ride. It should be a 10 or 15 euro ride. But the cab driver gave us the downtown fare of 30 euros. It did seem pretty high for the short distance. We were tired and ready to get to bed after traveling most of the day. We ate in the restaurant. They had a nice selection. The prices were good. We did take the shuttle to the airport. It is very close.…
We stayed at this hotel when leaving Spain earlier than planned due to the Coronavirus travel restrictions. The room was very comfortable. Bed was great. Bathroom was very clean. Shuttle service was reliable. Breakfast buffet was very good.
