Great apartment in excellent location in the heart of Madrid. Nice clean apartment. Very friendly and efficient staff. We had 2 bedrooms each with a double and a single. Also a sofa bed if needed. Letting us have a free mobile wifi router a nice touch.

The apartment is a great base to explore the city. 5 mins from Plaza Mayor and Puerta De Sol. 10 mins from Gran Via. The reception staff were excellent. We were able to walk to all the sights we were interested in seeing in Madrid. We did arrange for a pickup from the airport, which in hindsight was very good. First time finding the location would have been tricky. Cab stops around corner and short walk, so it was extremely helpful to have him walk us to the front...

We've stayed 4 nights at Arenal apartments: clean, well maintained, heated with nice kitchenette, tv, good wifi connection and not overpriced. Location is great - right in the city center, close to Sol and Opera metro station as well as bus stations. The only minus (obviously not that important) was that after booking and paying via booking.com we were given...

The apartment we rented had one bedroom with three twins, two pushed together, and a sofa two twin bed. There was one, small bathroom, a bit of closet space that we didn't use since we were only in Madrid for two nights. The building was a bit hidden, but easy to find. We were on the 3rd floor and there...

The cleanliness of this place is quite doubtful. I encountered another guest´s hair on the sheets, floors, towels and bathroom tiles. I reported it to the front desk and they told me that no cleaning lady was available until the next day. The manager ended up changing the towels and sheets and cleaned the room a bit more which made...

Really noisy, the Windows are really bad soundproofed. Really dirty, the bathroom, the kitchen, the sofa are dirty and careless and in really bad shape! The Bed sheets for the sofa are at the bad size... Well, we will never go to this place anymore. No more comments, I'm getting on nerves

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
