This small hotel, part of the chain of the NH name was ideally located in the Salamanca district. Walkable was Plaza Colon, a small Corte Ingles which had the Gourmet Experience section, Calle Serrano, Goya and Velasquez, major streets that had high end shops as well as the groceries such as Dia. Very nearby to the hotel was Mercado Dela...

Conveniently located (not in Madrid's downtown) but close to good spots for nightlife and luxury shopping, NH Lagasca offered excellent service, buffet breakfast was included. Front-Desk service was very kind and attentive. Facilities are OK. Recommended for first time visitors (mostly). Taxi from airport is around 30EUR (little expensive) and Serrano subway station is just to blocks from here.

I was expecting an easy stay and nice hotel but it was much more. NH La Gasca offers all you need if you want a comfortable, easy stay within Barrio de Salamanca, Madrid. NH La Gasca is very well located, there are great restaurants, cafes and boutiques around. Walking distance you can reach Serrano street with all its luxury shops,...

Nice hotel for a quick stop in Madrid. Close to the business and shop district of Lagasca. At the moment there are works going on, so the breakfast room is not open and breakfast is served in the hall. Rooms are good

I strongly recommend that you do not stay at this hotel if other choices exist. Despite friendly and helpful staff, the facility itself was sub par in all respects. I arrived at 11.00am after travelling overnight and despite prepaying, I had to wait in the lobby for two hours before a room was available. The room was tiny. Laying in...

Dear Mr. Stewart, First of all thank you for taking the time of filling in your opinion. Regarding the restaurant facilities, indeed, the restaurant is being refubrished and we are giving, for free, a continental breakfast in order to compensate the inconveneances. As for the size of the room, like in almost all hotels, it depends as we have them...

This hotel has an extraordinary location in the "Barrio de Salamanca". The room size is ok although they dont turn on the air conditioning during winter and spring, making our room a little bit hot. During our stay the restaurant ant the lobby had some remodeling going on.

Dear Jose, First of all thank you for taking the time of giving your opinion. Thank you also for mentioning the extraordinary location. Regarding the air coditioning, indeed during winter we only have heating and when outside temperture gets high, we switch our system to air conditioning. Now it has already been done. And we are remodeling our restaurant area...

Stayed for 3 nights for business. Room was impossibly hot during my stay as air con is switched off over winter. Room was strange as it was small, bathroom was adequate. Dear Smith-Rashleigh, First of all thank you for taking the time of filling in your commets. I am really sorry to read that the hotel did not fullfill your expectations. Room just about large enough to swing a cat. Despite being 10 degrees outside it was uncomfortably warm inside with no working aircon, switched off for winter months. Had inward facing non breezy room (not helping with room temp!) looking into souless centre. Good free internet. For shops and restaurants this is in one of the best locations. Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
