Very friendly staff. We were there for three nights and really enjoyed our stay , as we were nearly in the centre and Prado museum is 2 mins walk. Good recommendations for food nearby by staff . Breakfast was delicious, you can ask for omelettes freshly done and poached eggs

I loved my stay at the Ritz but when I returned last year it has become more commercialized with advertising all over the magnificent gardens. This is an ideal location to treat someone to luxury and a memorable experience which will last a lifetime.

I have stayed there many times--the Ritz is a classic hotel in the grand sense. Everything about the Ritz is very pleasant and the staff go out of their way to accommodate your wishes. Centrally located, the Ritz is a great option while in Madrid and a must for any seasoned traveller.

Delightful to be back in Madrid. Especially at it's leading hotel the Ritz. Located next to the Prado and near the magnificent El Retiro Park: Madrid's equivalent to Hyde Park London and Central Park, NYC. The Ritz Madrid is the epitome of luxury. Great breakfast and afternoon tea. Check out the Sunday brunch: well worth the price. The terrace is...

The hotel is very conveniently located in Madrid, and has a classic European charm to it. The staff go out of their way to accommodate your needs. The lobby is a great place to relax and visit with friends and family when not touring the city. My only complaint is that the bedding was exceptionally firm, almost boarding on hard.

The Ritz has kept its its traditional splendour and impeccable standard over the years and it has never disappointed me. Lounging in the main hall, one can not but feel part of the Madrilene society as it is obvious that the locals make good use of the hotel's facilities. The bedrooms are superbly appointed and immensely comfortable, particularly after a...

A superb hotel - excellent staff, beautiful old-world elegance, lovely rooms - altogether a wonderful experience. Located next to the Prado, a short walk to the beautiful historic center with excellent restaurants, museums and palaces. We stayed 10 days and the staff was wonderful: anything we asked was cheerfully and promptly provided.

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
