i stayed with my family last october and it was just fabulous. Employees make you feel like at home, breakfast at the restaurant terrace as the weather was great. Rooms very spacious. With my family we enjoyed so much the Bar patio where cocktails were delicious and we were so pampered. We will definitely come back !

Hotel's Favourite
When we travel to Madrid, this is our hotel of choice. Each year it never dissapoints. Situated in the Salamanca district, where shopping is number 1 on the list, the hotel is only a few footsteps to El Corte Ingles (supermercado) if you want to grab a few snacks etc. The rooms are a reasonable size and seem to attract the business traveller. Beds are very comfortable and huge. There is lots of room for your clothes and the bathroom is a good size. The shower is powerfull which is something I enjoy (and how I rate a quality hotel) :) The door staff are brilliant and helpful and assist the majority of the time. Breakfast is reasonable with lots of variety and some freshly cooked dishes. We had an issue with the hot water during this last stay (something to do with the pipes in the area) and after being spun a few tales, we spoke with Charles (GM Director) after meeting him on our previous visit. Charles was honest and provided us the accurate events which was refreshing and showed true leadership. It was my wifes birthday and the hotel arranged a lovely bottle of Champagne with chocolate dipped strawberries - a magical touch. Thank you... We also attended the spa on this trip. The couples massage was pure heaven and the facilities that you can use as part of your visit mean its definately worth getting there an hour or two before you appointment time. The food at the restaurant Villa Magna was outstanding. Each dish we ate was full of flavour and at a very high standard. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner If you want a hotel that is in the upmarket part of Madrid with high end boutiques, then I would recommend Villa Magna in a heart beat.

A good location still needs a lot more in order to be a true 5 star. The room I had was next to the service area at the end of the hall- noises coming through the wall were not something that made me very happy albeit to be fair it was usually in the afternoon not early morning but that is besides the point when you are trying to work. Housekeeping kept things clean but forgetting to put shampoo and conditioner? Just pet peeves that don’t shower the place with roses. Finally and most critically- they don’t put water in the room except at turndown apparently- unbelievable especially in light of the EXCESSIVE charge of almost 50 euros for two bottles of still water and juice. It’s completely out of whack - not even in Tokyo are mini bar prices this excessive. When I commented on this I was told that the mini bar prices are posted in the room. That is correct but I usually assume a price range and am not in the habit of looking at the minibar prices when it comes to soft drinks as there is an assumed range. So no problem I will pay naturally - but given no water in the room and this - it’s a rip off in my book and an experience not to be repeated. Offensive.

We stayed at Villa Magna on a recommendation, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, although we may not have utilised the facilities to their best effect. However staff were totally efficient proficient and courteous. Breakfast worked well, as did the bar in the evening, and location was excellent
