We stayed here 3 days and we could not have picked a better place! Getting here from the airport was easy, the location is in the heart of the city, and the place itself is clean and safe. Diana at the main desk was always so helpful. Long story short, we will stay here again when we find ourselves in...

Excellent location, which means it wasn't very quiet. Clean. Comfortable enough bed. Nice showers. One bathroom had no toilet paper for 3 days, which was annoying. No elevator. Helpful staff. After a recent poor experience at a hostal, this place was a relief.

This hostel provided clean quiet accommodations. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Location could not be better, 2minutes to the plaza with good shopping, great restaurants. Unfortunately, only able to spend one night. Will definitely utilize this property on the next visit to Madrid.

Whilst not the most excellent of places to stay, this hostal offers amazing value for money, and does not disappoint with it being in the centre of Madrid. The rooms you get are of standard quality, but what more could you expect with the prices so low, also last year when I stayed (and regrettably did not leave a review;...

Great location near the Mercado San Miguel which has a cafe, a couple of bars and many stalls that sell tapas. Near two metro subway stations Solar and Opera. Rooms are adequate. Multiple bathrooms with showers that are shared but clean. Towels can be rented for one euro.

The hotel has a perfect location close to everything. The staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable. The restaurant is great for breakfast and late dinner. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Really close to the center, clean and good price. Be careful when you book through their website with a credit card. Check that it is correct, otherwise they will cancel your booking without any other option.

The first 'pro' is location. It's a really center but not so crowdy like near del Sol. Lot's of restaurants, pubs and shops. All the public transportation are close to. The second pros is cleanness. It's really shiny and cosy rooms, bathrooms, bed linen and even TV (! ;) A little noisy at nights because of very close market is...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
