I spend more time in hotels around the world than I do my own home. I can't say enough about this hotel and in particular the owners Jose, Fernando and family. They truly made some very stressful days of work dissolve with their exceptional hospitality, amazing food and genuine personalities. It offers a great location, clean and charming rooms but... We stayed here overnight as a last minute decision and were really pleased with everything about this hotel. We'd had a long day driving and it was nice to be greeted by the owner who helped us with our bags and let us into the room. We quickly realised that we had left our passports at the previous hotel and... More

Fernando, Josz, and family are the best hosts! Fernando speaks very good English for us Americans; Fernando went over and above helping us arrange our next places to stay and back pack transportation. Our room was very comfortable, and tasteful, very inviting. The hotel is a wonderful mix of the old and new construction and is located very close to... More

I'd echo everything about the charm, location and exceptionally friendly service. This would be a perfect hotel but if your room is in the front as ours was, the noise from the bar next door is awful. We used our earplugs and I took a sleeping pill. Also there are two lights over the door to the room so it's... More

We stayed here for two nights in August when the hotel was quiet. The hotel owners were extremely welcoming and very willing to give good restaurant recommendations or ideas for activities. As the hotel was quiet, we were given a selection of rooms which was very accommodating and the rooms were all very tastefully decorated. The hotel is in a... More

Completely agree with the other positive reviews on tripadvisor. I stayed here with my sister and we were really impressed with the hotel and the lovely owners. Our room was really cute and nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable, and with a balcony looking onto the street below. The feel and level of service of the hotel is more of... More

I can't speak highly enough about our host at this small hotel, as he truly made our stay memorable. Throughout our stay, he offered advice on what to see in Vigo, suggestions for walks, restaurants and was incredibly accommodating in retrieving our car, which was parked until late, following our return from Islas Cies. The hotel itself is small, but... More

Excellent place, well situated in the old town. Nice tasteful rooms. The owners where very friendly, helpful and took very good care of us. A very familiar place and don't miss the Don Quijote restaurant nearby, recommended by the hotel. If you ever go to Vigo , this is the place for you.

Hotel Puerta Gamboa is ideally located in Vigo, near the waterfront, historical area, & the main shopping avenue. The staff is fantastically helpful, cordial, friendly. The room is luxurious & comfortable. I had a memorable stay in this little known city & its beautiful hotel.

A small hotel in an old building renovated with great style, Puerta Gamboa is in an ideal location on the junction of the old town (bars and restaurants) the port (trips to the Islas Cies - unmissable!) and the new town (shops and restaurants). It's family-owned and run with excellent service and advice from the owners. Highly recommended.
