Small clean and comfortable hotel at edge of the old city area. Just 5 minutes walk and you cross the river to the start of the medieval city of Girona.
I had a double room with en suite. Shower was a bit tight ( and I’m average size). But good pressure. The room also had a refrigerator and kettle plus bottles of water, tea bags and coffee etc. Although my room overlooked the main road crossing the river it was not noisy. The bed was comfortable. The hotel provides a pleasant room onn1st floor where coffee can be obtained from a machine plus a microwave.

Hotel very well located, the rooms are small but with everything you need to spend one or several nights. The stay includes a self-service cafeteria area in the morning. Great cleanliness and very friendly service, especially David on the afternoon shift at reception :) They also have several parking spaces right next door in an external garage (ask when booking). Everything was great, only the inconvenience of noise from adjacent rooms and above; You can hear it quite a bit... Still recommended!

New hotel; it used to be a youth hostel and has been updated to a fairly decent hotel. Located next to the river, and ca. 10 min. on foot away from the old town. Many coffee places and bakeries plus a supermarket nearby. Rooms small, but all ok. No fridge. Walls rather thin, so you can hear others speaking. Traffic noise fairly high. They have a 'game room' (with no games) where they serve coffee, chocolate, and tea in the morning, along with very small muffins or crackers. They have an elevator. Staff is very friendly and efficient. The bathrooms are very small, but everything in the room was working, and the bed was fine. You still feel the youth hostel atmosphere, yet it is quite decent. One problem: tour buses are not allowed to park there. We had to walk all the way from and to the train/bus station with our luggage and then to catch our tour bus. Taxis cost ca. 7-8 Euros (the first time, we were cheated; charge of 16 Euros). Outside is a big square for the farmers' market. Not bad altogether; we were quite happy there, for 5 days! If we had a good breakfas included, we would have been happier.

I dont recommend this place. The first photo shows the room we received, totally not similar to those in the hotel website or booking.com photos(the second photo). The lady on reception said it was the only such an ugly room, but there is no such information anywhere. If I had known that I would get a room like this I would never had made a reservation at this hotel. The behavior of the lady at the reception desk during the conversation was also not correct, because after presenting photos of the room we should get and the room we were given, she said that there was nothing she could do about it. One more thing is very interesting-the fact that the website says that the hotel has a garden, but it really was nothing…maybe a small balcony with two chairs and huge amount of bird droppings.

The room is clean and well equipped, with air condition for the hot summer. Location is walkable from the train and bus station. It is just 5 minutes walk to the old city centre. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. I also liked the dining room provided on the 1st floor, with a microwave, utensils and a fridge. If you want to eat simple, you can just buy some takeaways from the supermarket a few doors away, and warm up your food, and eat at the dining area..

I would stay here again if I go back to Girona.

We just wanted to spend one night, rest and visit the city.
With the reservation made directly with them, warning us that we were late, we found ourselves at 9:30 p.m. in a room (319) that has nothing to do with the photos: decoration from the 60s, two mini beds and a folding one. marriage covered with a sheet, the split air conditioning that does not work...
When we go down to reception, the only thing they confirm to us is that they are having problems with the air conditioners and that the superior double room is what we have and that if we are not satisfied, they will refund our money and we can find a life.
We met at 10 at night without accommodation. It was necessary to demand that they give us a solution and finally, with Gisela's good management, they found us accommodation in a nearby hotel.
As I said, misleading advertising and a price totally out of the market for what they offer.

We had two nights booked for July 2022. It was very hot outside and we were looking forward to cooling off at night. The AC seemed a little wonky on arrival, and the person at the desk brought us a fan to help. But then it completely stopped working in the middle of the night. It must have been above 90 degrees F in our room. And the bathroom smelled like the previous occupant had played hide the duke. After two weeks of travel, this was the worst hotel by far. We didn't stay the second night.

My review will be short. I'd booked this hotel, but there was a problem with my room (toilet wouldn't stop flushing). No rooms left so moved to sister hotel.

from my short visit the hotel is a typical budget hotel. It was very clean, but the rooms on Booking.com are either from a very nice big room or filtered etc. I found the rooms to be much smaller and actually very dark.

Location is good for train station and old historic Girona.

If you're happy with clean and very basic this would be OK for 2 nights. But any longer I think you would want more comforts.

The Pension Margarit in Girona is a good choice for the brgain hunter who is not fussy about decor. The paint is peeling and the only mirror is in the bathroom. You will need ear plugs to sleep at night (our room faced a noisy street). That being said, there are many good reasons to stay at the Margarit. My adult daughter and I paid 50 euros a night (43 for the room, 7 for use of the parking garage, which I would highly recommend if you're traveling by car). The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower was more than adequate, and the location was excellent. We were a short walk from the old city, which is charming and is designed to visit on foot. You will be walking on a lot of cobblestones, so wear appropriate shoes. The hotel is just across the river from the old city, which makes it easily accessible by car. The people at reception are warm, friendly, and very helpful. One gentleman has apparently spent endless hours putting together puzzles that are framed and hanging everywhere. The Rendicion de Granada is hanging in the breakfast room, a startlingly large puzzle that took 750 hours to complete. Breakfast was included in the price and very adequate (freshly baked croissants, fruit, yogurt, cold cereal, pastries, etc.) We had to leave early to catch a plane, and they prepared a breakfast-to-go for us!
