The only thing I did not like: No glasses, there was sth like "common kitchen" but there was only a fridge and a microwave and a paid coffee machine with paper cups, no kettle to boil the water, no tea option in the coffee machine, no teaspoon or a cup. It would be nice to have an option to make a tea.
I missed the note on the door and walked around all afternoon with my heavy backpack. I returned to find the door still closed. It was only then I saw a notice concerning Booking.com and a number to call. As the person I rang hardly spoke a word of English communication by mobile phone (which they presumed I had), was difficult. However, the lady arrived within minutes. The room had no window. The radiator clicked on and off all night, and the locks on the doors echoed right through the building because of the tiled floors and absolute lack of any soft furnishings to absorb the sound - luckily the hotel was not heavily booked so I managed to sleep.
For people on a touring holiday by car this Pension is impossible to park nearby. The nearest underground car park would work out dearer than the cost of the overnight stay. To overcome this problem there are two solutions. Either check out the situations of the free car parks and walk to the hotel, or use the bus. To start with I arrived in the town, got as near as possible and parked in the underground car park near the market. There is a bus stop right next to the car park and the market. So I decided to follow the No. 1 bus route until I could find an area with free parking - the bus routes are all marked at the bus stops. I then caught the bus into town and reversed the process the next morning. Cost for the bus was about 1.20€ each way. Any parking areas with blue lines are not free.
Afternoon staff did not speak English, but Spanish and French.
They advised that they will not waive the fee and will be charging the full cost of the room.
I advise that given there are still rooms available on booking websites that me cancelling now would not cost them any business, however they charged me the fee and said nothing more.
I was a single female arriving late in the night and had to scramble to find someplace else to stay last minute. I was very disappointed with this customer service and I would not recommend staying here
Bad was OK, room nice but very small. Shared bathroom very clean, however quite old. Good location makes it a good place for overnight, but hard to find due to narrow street which you can miss easily.
Reception times were given as between 1 and 9.30pm. and we were delighted to find a very friendly and welcoming lady at reception. We had booked a room with shared bathroom and when we saw it we were very pleased. Very clean ,spotless with clean linen and daily clean .We found the shared bathroom O.K but if you have to get up in the night it would be better to book room with private bathroom as it is a bit of a maze to get to the bathroom.
On our next visit we did book the room with private bathroom again very clean great shower with soap and shampoo provided and fresh towels daily and it was only a little extra in cost but as we had an early departure well worth it. Again please note the reception times because outwith these times there is no staff there . There is only Spanish and Catalan spoken.
We were very happy with the location as there were so many cafes and restaurants the historic centre the rail and bus station within walking distance.
There is building work being done in this lovely old building just now an elevator is being installed so out in the central staircase men start work at 8am and work daytime .It didn’t affect us at all.
"Request a room with a window. This is a cheap overnight style Pension and good value for money as well as being right next to the historic centre. However, make sure you have a mobile phone and perhaps a phrase book or spanish dictionary."Read full review
