Overall a lovely quirky little place , spotlessly clean and a great location for us travelling back from the airport the following day !!! We arrived just in time for check in , having travelled from Barcelona and not realising the train was 1h 40, we thought we had the high speed express so double check !!! As others have commented not a particularly warm welcome from the owner .
Given a room on 4th floor with my children ,good exercise for us BUT OMG no air conditioning !!!!!! This along with the church bells every half hour means we had very little sleep. The rooms were like a furnace and so uncomfortable. Due to this I would not return to this establishment which is a shame . I will defcome back to Girona as its beautiful and I wish I had more time , but will book an air conditioned hotel next time .

My boyfriend and I stayed for two days in lovely Girona, when we made a trip trough north-spain. We hadn't reserved a place to stay, so we decided to see at the place for a hotel or pension. Pensio Viladomat was in the old centre, carrer ciutudans and we were very pleased. The only room that was left was a triple room. We weren't sure, so the lady of the house let us take a look first, but we were nicely surprised: there were three seperate rooms: one room with a single bed, a bathroom with bad, lavabo, and a spacious room with a double bed, a little terras, a television...
The bed- and bathroom were spotless clean and very pleasant to stay. We even had a little frigo, where we kept our water cold. The only negative point was that there was no airco, but I didn't mind that!! And above all, it was a nice and charming building.
We payed 75 euro for the room per night, all included.

The only hotel ever that's requested arrival time almost a month before arrival. I received an informative message about the reception opening times and about bicycles not being allowed. I did not reply. Then booking. Com informed that the hotel had marked my MasterCard as invalid payment method. I messaged the hotel saying I'd added the payment card again and got a reply saying without the requested information "we cancel reservation." I once again pointed out I was talking about the payment card and the hotel just started to talk about check-in times. Eventual I got a sassy reply about how we shouldn't complicate life. Having worked in hotels, I know hotels have reception opening times. It is normal to inform the hotel if you'd be checking in OUTSIDE of the check-in times. As a hotel you've informed me of the reception opening hours, I expect those to be the hours you follow. Paying customers should not accommodate the hotel's needs for flexible hours.

Response from Pensió Viladomat, Director General at Pensio Viladomat
Responded 2 Jul 2024
It is not correct, you accept the schedules that we offer when making the reservation, we sell a product with its particularities, you are free to accept or not, we are not the ones who must modify the product that you accept, thank you

We stayed here for two nights.
It is right in the Old Town which was an ideal location. Right next door to a convenience store and there are plenty of restaurants round about you (been told to avoid La Rambla for food - as its a tourist trap)
The room was basic - a fan, vanity, double bed. That's all you need if you don't plan to stay in the hotel all day - why would you? You're on holiday!
We stayed in a room with a shared bathroom - it was clean and there were plenty of shower mats so you don't need to worry about sharing them with others.
If you are looking for somewhere budget friendly, a decent owner/receptionist, and right in the centre - this is the place.
(No elevators so be prepared to walk up 4 flights of stairs - not complaining after eating and drinking all day!)

Stayed here for 1 night in a twin room with my son as we were watching Girona FC whilst on a mini break. I have to say that some of the previous reviews are extremely unfair as this is a great little place. Yes you have to confirm what time you are arriving to the owner beforehand as reception is only open between 0900 hours and 1900 hours, if you are arriving after 7pm then stay somewhere else!! Our room was on the 3rd floor (reception 2nd floor) and was extremely clean with its own private bathroom. Tea and coffee were also provided in the room. Our room had a small balcony that looked into the main street below, which was full of hustle and bustle. Hotel is situated in the middle of the old town and within walking distance of all the main sights. It doesn't offer breakfast but plenty of cafes close by for this. Our flight home wasn't until the evening but the owner kindly kept our bags for us all day to save us having to walk around with them. All in all a great hotel in the middle of Girona!!

I did not actually stay at this hotel. I had the most bizarre experience with their booking people (or whoever manages this). My booking was rejected apparently by a mistake when entering my credit card details. Went into Booking.com and Ihad two messages from the hotel: "Our schedules (accepted by you) are not changeable, you can cancel, thank you" and then "what is that you don't understand".
I responded I didn't know what they were talking about and then I realised I must have made a mistake when I entered the arrival time and clarified I meant 2 pm and not 2 am (sheer guess since I had no clue what was going on). Their response was even ruder and continued saying that they would not stay up waiting for me at 3 am. "It's closed, thanks". And then went on to give me a lesson on how to choose the time in the Anglo-Saxon style ( :-) ).

I cancelled the booking. I can only imagine how rude they can be in person.

I believe that they think that by adding "thanks" or "gracias" they think they are polite? Utterly impolite and not worth my money.

We stayed at this delightful pension in the old part of Girona in June 2004. Our room was large, airy, and very clean and the beds most comfortable. The bathroom was a newly-fitted en-suite. The owner was most welcoming and friendly even though neither of us spoke each others language! There is a local coffee shop close by for a delicious breakfast, and there are lots of trendy shops and bars in the locality as well as great restaurants. Girona is a great place to visit - don't miss it!
