Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed 5 nights in one of the balcony rooms on the third floor, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel. The location of the hotel is excellent for those who wish to stay in the historic area with lots of restaurants within a few blocks walk.

Our interactions with the front desk were also great.

The common areas were very well taken care of and attractive. The bar in the lobby (low key and well isolated from the rooms so that any sound is not an issue for guests) was popular with both guests and others.

Breakfast was included in our rate but with so many options outside the hotel we only had breakfast there once. The unique La Fabrica became our favorite for a healthy breakfast.

The time we were there, mid-October, allowed us to keep our door to the balcony open all night long - the fresh air was pleasant and even though the hotel is in an active part of town, the only sound we heard all night was that of the church bells.
Note that the balcony room is uncovered by a roof and not useful if there is rain (their was rain before we came and it took a day for the balcony furniture and rug to dry out).

Our room was very quiet. This is because the balcony rooms are facing the beautiful and green back courtyard and the others guests were also quiet. I can imagine if there was a loud guest at the time, the noise would have carried into our room. Also, we did not check out the rooms facing the street so I cannot speak to the level of noise guest could experience in those rooms, however the hotel is renovated with very tight windows so possibly they would block out sound even in the front rooms.

We have had an unbeatable stay, the Hotel is located in the historic center of the city. It is a beautiful mansion completely restored. The attention from all the staff was exceptional at all times. Having breakfast on the terrace, "El Terrat", in summer is appreciated. The breakfast products are local and varied. In the afternoon and evening we were able to taste various vermouths and drinks at "La Placeta". The pity is that during our stay, being a recently opened hotel, the "Casa Heras" restaurant had not yet been open since seeing what the hotel was like and our stay we would have loved to try it. It also has an area for "spa" treatments and an indoor warm water pool as well as a small outdoor pool. The room we stayed in was the "Fugit Tower", its decoration is different from other hotels we have stayed in. In addition to being a spacious room and having all the comforts, it has a private terrace at the top where we could enjoy the night enjoying some drinks. The hotel does not have parking but there are several nearby within a 5-minute walk. I recommend the SABA Berenguer and Carniser, which is located in the Courts. It cost us 11 euros per day. The hotel offers parking that is further away and costs 22 euros per day. Finally, we have to say that if we visited Gerona again, we would definitely book at this hotel again. Many thanks to all the staff at the Hotel Palau Fugit for the attention and kindness they have given us.

My wife and I spent five days at Hotel Palau Fugit late October. I discovered this gem on Trip Advisor. Situated in the heart of Girona's old town, the hotel was originally an 18th century baroque palace that has been renovated. The property is a stunning, creative marriage of contemporary and baroque architecture providing so many unique spaces throughout the hotel from the rooftop garden, the various guest rooms, to the hotel entrance and lobby bar. Our room was quiet, well appointed, exceptionally comfortable, and spotlessly clean, with large windows providing views of the tranquil inner courtyard and fountain. The hotel provides delicious breakfasts with fresh baked breads and regional food selections. My only recommendation is to upgrade the coffee provided. While I do not drink coffee, I noted that a few guests, my wife included did not like the French press coffee. We had three superb dinners at Casa Heras, the hotel's restaurant, which serves gourmet quality, seasonal, regional cuisine. What most distinguishes Hotel Palau is the excellent, consistently courteous service that is provided from reception staff, through housekeeping to the restaurant and bar. We look forward to returning to Hotel Palau Fugit on our next trip to Girona.

Palau Fugit has once again demonstrated its sense of unique hospitality. Yesterday's visit to the Casa Heras restaurant is inseparably linked to quality and service, just like in the hotel. The professionally prepared cocktails in the Gipsy and the perfect ambience turned a business lunch into an unforgettable experience at the end of the day. Many thanks to the very attentive service and the chef.

This is a charming hotel in the old town. The decor is tasteful and sympathetic to the wonderful old building.
Staff are without exception helpful friendly and welcoming. Breakfasts are extremely generous consisting of acold selection and a hot made to order dish. This is served at your table to no queueing for a buffet. Meals were delicious and nicely presented. My room was quiet and very comfortable though possibly lacking privacy for friends to share. The outdoor pool is ina shady courtyard and the roof top terrace is comfortable and sunny ! All in all a delightful stay.

This hotel is simply amazing. Me and my husband stayed here for our honeymoon in October and have never stayed in such a nice hotel. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and the facilities are all amazing. Our room was clean and looked exactly like the advertised photos. We enjoyed the breakfast every day of our trip and enjoyed that it was a contintental spread with a chefs dish of your choice. We made use of our complimentary hour in the wellness room as we booked directly on their website and we have never been in an indoor pool like it. After the visit to the wellness room, we booked massages for the next day and they were very relaxing. The bar area was great to go to in the evening and they serve amazing cocktails and delicious tapas. We would recommend the patatas bravas! One day we hope to return to the hotel and we would recommend it to anyone!

A really welcoming stay. We had a midweek 2 night trip to Girona with our 2 young children and the hotel and staff were so friendly and hospitable to us. We enjoyed everything about our stay despite the unseasonable weather and loved all the little thoughtful touches throughout.

this is a beautiful property,. located in the center of the center. As soon as you come out the door, you're inmersed in the crowds who come to Girona looking for beauty and fun. So not a bad start. Inside, they have managed to cajole an ancient stone building into the modern era. My room wasn't that big, but it was perfect! even things like the windows and shutters were notably crafted, turning the spanish night and its noises into a dark silence. the fittings in the bathroom at the best on the market. Downstairs, the staff is great, flexible, warm, smart. Breakfast a delight, and the restaurant draws a steady crowd from all over. Congrats to the vision of the owners.

Great attention to detail in all aspects: from the staff (very friendly and attentive), in the services and the design and decoration, exquisite and quality. The room we had faced the patio and despite being on the ground floor it had a lot of light. Super comfortable bed and creative and practical design details. We loved it, we will return for sure!

All the service from the staff was super detailed and exquisite. A hotel full of corners that praise its history and curious corners where you can take your best photos and be the envy of whoever looks at them; without being able to forget to mention the great taste in the interior design. About the rooms: the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the unforgettable bathtub. If you can, put yourself in the hands of the Spa professionals who will take you to seventh heaven. We repeat constantly
