The hotel name is Hilton, which has not the quality of Hilton.Just the location is fantastic. The room at night 1:00 a.m was so noisy ,even we asked from the reception to solve it,but he didnt help us.
Awesome stay, good and friendly customer service. Clean room, spacious, quiet and really comfy! I do not know if it is because I am a Hilton member, we got an upgrade room, well a suite for 1night. The room was so comfy that we were not sure to go visiting Girona. Location of the hotel is great since it is just at 15’ walking distance from downtown!
Our flights to the US were cancelled by the ongoing Covid19 situation. That said as a last minute plan, we arranged a three week holiday across France and Spain. As Diamond HHonors members, we try to always book Hiltons where ever we travel. Unfortunately there are not that many in France and Spain, but this hotel at Girona allowed us to have a break in our long trip for two nights. We parked on the street as we checked in. The hotel does have parking, which is accessed by driving in a large circle to get to the rear of the hotel. It is an underground one, and was pretty tight for our large car, but fortunately had spaces each day. Check in was friendly and quick, our temperatures were scanned and all was good. The room we choice was a one bed King suite. It was a great space for our family. Our young children on the sofa bed in one room, and myself and my Wife in the other. With two TV's for a Spanish speaking family, it would be great. There was no English TV, which is fine, we were in Spain after all. Right now there's a bit of a heat wave across Europe, and the rooms were warm on arrival. We turned on the AC in both rooms. After a couple of hours it became evident that the sofa bed room was much cooler than the king bed side. We called down, and asked if an engineer could be sent to check out the AC. I was told that it wasn't a problem, it could be fixed from downstairs. Within an hour or so, the AC began to cool. Evidently something was switched off remotely. By the following morning the rooms were cool, and we left the AC on as went out on travels. It was incredibly hot in Girona and walking around the old town, we couldn't wait to get back to the hotel to cool off. We returned expecting the rooms to be cool. The rooms had been cleaned, but both sets of curtains had been left open, and it was incredibly hot. Both ACs were blowing warm air. A window had been left open, and there was a fly buzzing around the room. Again we had to call reception to ask them to turn the AC back on. We fully understand that hotels want to save money, but at the expense of customer comfort, it's not really a great policy. We live in cooler climes, but we have AC in our home. On low settings, they use so little electricity. The biggest draw on current is when you've had it off, and it has to fight against a warm room. So this spoiled things a little for us. We appreciate that we're in Spain, it's hot, it's the summer, but when you expect to get back to a cool room, and it's hot... it's really not good enough. That said, I'm still scoring it a high four because everything else was right. Breakfasts were prepacked sandwiches on a tray each morning, with a bread roll, croissant, jams, honey, etc. With Covid19 it is understandable to avoid breakfast buffets, although there was still elements of help yourself. Ultimately the space we had offset the AC niggles. There was a great supermarket next door. It was large, & reasonably priced. We will be back to the hotel on our return journey to the UK, and we're happy to be going back there. To be honest, we've other hotels on the return that we used coming out, that we're now cancelling owing to poor experiences. All in all it was a positive experience, just please leave the AC to the customers choice, and get the full five out of five. Thanks for reading.…
Clean and contemporary, it's a sensible option if parking is a concern. Otherwise I would suggest to look for a better location, this hotel isn't that close to the historic area, and is nothing special, while Girona is full of character. Rooms at the front could be noisy
Hotel ist clean, parking possibilities are limited, staff is not very friendy (girl was mainly occupied with her portable phone, seemed annoyed by customers). On the following day, however, the reception was occupied by a lovely person. Although I did the booking through miles & more, it was impossible to obtain the points. The location is not too great, being far from the old town.
